flight training provider, may be randomly tested for drug abuse.<br />
Implementation and Oversight<br />
The President has the authority to establish procedures to implement this policy.<br />
The Dean of Students, under the direction of the Vice Provost for Student Services<br />
and Ombudsperson is responsible for the implementation and oversight of policy<br />
compliance.<br />
Violation of Policy<br />
Students found in violation of this policy are subject to discipline in accordance with<br />
College Policy 6Hx2-5.02 – Student Code of Conduct, up to and including expulsion<br />
from the College.<br />
If a <strong>student</strong> is required to submit to a drug screening by the Dean of Students based<br />
on behaviors that indicate the use of drugs or alcohol which impairs their ability to<br />
perform in their academic program, refusal to submit to such a drug screening will be<br />
treated as a positive test result. The College retains the right to dismiss a <strong>student</strong> from<br />
the College or from a specific program, in accordance with the Program Guidelines for<br />
that program.<br />

Meningitis and Hepatitis B<br />
Florida Statutes requires that Broward College provide information to all enrolled<br />
<strong>student</strong>s on the risks associated with Meningitis and Hepatitis B. Information<br />
regarding Meningitis and Hepatitis B is available at the following websites from the<br />

General Statement<br />
Broward College (“the College”) recognizes the serious adverse societal and<br />
educational impact associated with the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), and<br />
Acquired Immune Deficiency syndrome (AIDS).<br />
The Policy and the Student<br />
College <strong>student</strong>s may not violate the Student Code of Conduct as it relates to<br />
discrimination against <strong>student</strong>s, faculty, staff, or guests of the College based on their<br />
perception of HIV/AIDS infection.<br />
Students enrolled in various programs at the College, including, but not limited to<br />
Health Sciences, Institute for Public Safety, Aviation, etc., may be required per the<br />
