Newark Academy has a diverse
population and fosters an inclusive
learning community, with
students of color making up over
60 percent of the student body
and more than $3 million per year
dedicated toward financial aid. Over
the course of their academy careers,
students develop a genuine sense
of belonging, cultivated by deep
and meaningful relationships with
their teachers and peers. Newark
Academy graduates possess the
knowledge and skills to be leaders in
their fields, their communities, and
the broader world.
“In every part of the NA experience,
students are encouraged to become
creative and critical thinkers
and empowered to explore diverse
interests,” says Director of Admission
Keith Fischer. “Our students often
find their passion in more than
just a single area, becoming highly
accomplished scholars, artists, and
athletes.”
Newark Academy’s award-winning
arts and athletics programs
foster these passions while also
helping students become better
leaders and teammates.
The school’s commitment to
athletic excellence resulted in eight
New Jersey State Interscholastic
Athletic Association (NJSIAA) state
championships during the 2021–
2022 school year. Newark Academy
recently debuted its state-of-the-art,
700-seat Coraci Performance Hall—
a central hub for its many talented
performing arts groups as well as
regular gatherings for the tight-knit
Newark Academy community.
THE
WARDLAW
+HARTRIDGE
SCHOOL
A World-Changing Prep School
The Wardlaw+Hartridge School is a
co-educational, college preparatory
day school with 475 students in pre-
K (starting at age three) through
grade 12. From an early childhood
program that offers hands-on experiential
learning to an Upper School
with rich academic offerings, the
Wardlaw+Hartridge School is large
enough to offer twenty advancedplacement
classes for high school
students yet small enough to provide
an intimate learning environment
for all. The 36-acre campus
houses a new performing arts center,
the Center for Global Learning,
a multi-media broadcasting studio,
an amphitheater, two gymnasiums,
a 25-yard swimming pool, eight tennis
courts, and two new athletic turf
fields. The school truly embodies its
six core values: integrity, opportunity,
support, diversity, community,
and sustainability.
