ID CARE
Dr. Ronald Nahass, president
Q: What is ID Care’s main role?
A: Our more than 50 physicians
across New Jersey use their expertise
to identify, evaluate, and effectively
treat infectious diseases.
Over the past two years, our focus
has been on evaluating more than
30,000 patients with COVID-19.
We were integral to the success of
was first identified by an ID Care
physician.
Q: How does ID Care help
reduce the risk of healthcare,
particularly in hospitals where
infections can be acquired?
A: We have taken a lead in understanding
how to maintain great
outcomes while limiting costs and
improving patient experiences,
helping to avoid hospital care for
certain conditions that can effectively
be treated elsewhere. We
do this regularly at infusion suites
in our offices, where patients who
previously would have been hospitalized
can now receive outpatient
treatment.
participating in Zoom calls. When
he saw his smile on the screen in
front of him and realized that’s
what everyone else was seeing, he
immediately understood the need
to improve his smile. He simply
couldn’t believe how old he looked
online!
many pandemic-related programs
in hospitals and long-term care
facilities, helping to save lives and
reduce risk to staff.
Q: In what other areas has ID
Care played an important role?
A: Since 1996, we have been on
the frontline of identifying infectious
diseases that are emerging,
unique, or ongoing. I always
talk about the infection du jour,
including things like monkeypox,
tick-borne diseases, and West Nile
encephalitis. For decades, ID Care
has been at the forefront of identifying
these conditions, particularly
when little is known about
them. For example, the Powassan
virus, which is carried by the same
tick that transmits Lyme disease,
Q: What are examples of that?
A: Conditions like urinary tract
infections, skin infections, and
pneumonia can now be successfully
treated at ten convenient
ID Care locations* rather than at
a hospital. This delivers patient
satisfaction along with great
outcomes, reduced risk, and lower
costs.
SUBURBAN
ESSEX DENTAL
Dr. Paul Feldman, owner
Q: How did you treat a patient
who was interested in improving
his smile?
A: This patient’s teeth were
discolored and chipped, with
significant wear. He explained that
he was never really very concerned
with the cosmetics until he started
Paul Feldman, DMD, FAGD, FICOI, PA
Q: What techniques were used
to achieve his goal?
A: We did a computerized smile
simulation that lets you see what
any proposed changes will look
like prior to us doing any dental
treatment. After that, we bleached
his upper teeth and placed veneers
on his two front teeth. Thanks to
the very latest technology we have
in our office, the veneers were
done digitally in a single visit. The
next time he had a Zoom call, he
said he looked ten years younger!
