Background

• There can be either Holy Spirit or Evil Spirit nothing in

between.

• All these 23 types of spirit are different forms of evil

spirit.

• Any form of evil must be rejected by a child of God.

• Jesus taught His disciples how to cast out devils.

• Today many are possessed and influenced by demons

• There are demonic spirits circulating in the air to

destroy humanity

• Many of us are dealing with these spirits over many

years without even recognizing them.

Background

• Any addiction may be compelling, overwhelming and

difficult to resist with own strength as the devil is

behind.

• We must never forget that we are in a spiritual war

and need to wrestle against the forces of evil (Revelation

12:7; Ephesians 6:12; 2Corinthians 10:3-6)

• We cannot overlook or be ignorant of Satan's

strategies and devices by which he assaults and seeks

to destroy our lives (2Corinthians 2:11; 2Timothy 2:24-26)

• If neglected and allowed, these spirits will possess us.

Background

Study of Demonology defines seven different stages of demonic

influence in any human.

1) Regression - to withdraw, to decrease, or backslide.

2) Repression - lessened and quenched expression...joyless, lifeless,

pathetic.

3) Suppression - to squeeze down abnormally, to conceal, as to suppress

information, feelings, and desires.

4) Depression - a psychotic or neurotic condition characterized by an

inability to concentrate, insomnia, and feelings of extreme sadness,

dejection, and hopelessness.

5) Oppression - like depression carried to the nth degree.

6) Obsession - Obsession is not always bad. Some people are obsessed

with the things of God, and that's a good thing. The evil form of

obsession, however, can be a terrible and cruel taskmaster.

7) Possession - in which the devil captures the immortal soul, to be

under absolute and total control of the devil. Your willpower is owned

by the spirit that lives in you.

1. Familiar spirit

The word familiar is from the Latin familiaris, meaning a

"household servant," and is intended to express the idea

that sorcerers had spirits as their servants ready to obey

their commands. Those attempting to contact the dead,

even to this day, usually have some sort of spirit guide

who communicates with them. These are familiar spirits.

2. Spirit of jealousy

This spirit rules in our country and nation, especially in the

churches. Lucifer became jealous of God. Isaiah 14:12-14 and

Ezekiel 28:12-19.

– Jealousy causes you to distrust in the one who you ought to

have trust in.

– Many are jealous because of their own insecurity.

– Proverbs 6:34 For jealousy [is] the rage of a man: therefore he

will not spare in the day of vengeance.

– This spirit will not allow you to enjoy your life

– This spirit will not allow you to be in peace within yourself and

with fellowmen

– This spirit is a like a cancer and will destroy families

– One of the main causes of divorce

3. Evil spirit

• A spirit tending to cause harm

• Acts 19:10-16 - 14 Also there were seven sons of Sceva, a

Jewish chief priest, who did so (tried to cast out the evil spirits).

And the evil spirit answered and said, “Jesus I know, and Paul

I know; but who are you?” 16 Then the man in whom the evil

spirit was leaped on them, overpowered them, and prevailed

against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and

wounded.

• 1Samuel 16:14 - 14 But the Spirit of the LORD departed from

Saul, and a distressing spirit from the LORD troubled him.

• Luke 8:2 and certain women who had been healed of evil

spirits and infirmities—Mary called Magdalene, out of whom

had come seven demons,

4. Sorrowful spirit

Always feeling sad

Having a sense of emptiness

Feel like crying out

Sadness is seen outwardly in the face

Sadness creeps inside and results in health deterioration

1 Samuel 1:15 But Hannah answered and said, “No, my

lord, I am a woman of sorrowful spirit. I have drunk

neither wine nor intoxicating drink, but have poured out

my soul before the LORD.

5. Lying spirit

1Kings 22:21-23 Then a spirit came forward and stood before the

LORD, and said, ‘I will persuade him.’ 22 The LORD said to him, ‘In

what way?’ So he said, ‘I will go out and be a lying spirit in the

mouth of all his prophets.’ And the LORD said, ‘You shall persuade

him, and also prevail. Go out and do so.’ 23 Therefore look! The

LORD has put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these prophets of

yours, and the LORD has declared disaster against you.”

Creating doctrines without using the word of God, crying, cursing, deceit,

deception, depraved (immoral) desires, divination, dreamer, emotionalism,

exaggeration, excessive talking, false accusations, false burdens, false prophecy,

false spirituality, false teachers, fantasies, fear of authority, financial problems,

flattery (sweet talk), fornication, homosexuality, hypocrisy, insinuations (art or

power of gaining good will by attracting confidence), lies, low self-image, (feel

ugly, worthless), lust, mental bondage, pornography, profanity, religious spirit,

seeker of men's approval, sexual perversions, sodomy, strong delusions,

superstitions, uncleanness, vain imaginations, vanity.

6. Haughty (prideful) spirit

Proverbs 16:18 Pride goes before destruction, And a haughty spirit

before a fall.

(arguable), controlling (scheming), criticism, dictatorial, domineering,

7. Perverse spirit

•Deliberately deviating from what is regarded as normal, good, or

proper

•Wicked Spirit

•Stubborn and willfully determined to be wicked

•Isaiah 19:14 The LORD has mingled a perverse spirit in her midst;

And they have caused Egypt to err in all her work, As a drunken

man staggers in his vomit.

Atheism, child abuse, chronic worrier, contentious(controversial),

cranky, doctrinal error, (twists the word), evil actions, false

teachers, fantasy lust, filthy minded, foolishness,

frigidity(coldness), harlotry, hate, incest(sex between close

relatives), lesbianism, lovers of self, lust, pedophilia, pornography,

sexual deviation, sexual perversion, sodomy, stubbornness,

wounded spirit.

8. Spirit of deep sleep

Isaiah 29:10 For the LORD has poured out on you The

spirit of deep sleep, And has closed your eyes, namely,

the prophets; And He has covered your heads, namely,

the seers.

–Most of Israel, except for some of the elect, were spiritually

blinded and deafened by the Spirit of Slumber.

–When the Spirit of Deep Sleep/Slumber causes a person's

eyes not to see, that person's spiritual awareness is obscured

(covered) and hazy and spiritual matters are vague, ambiguous,

and unknown to him. He is unable to perceive and has no

intuitive recognition.

–The Spirit of Deep Sleep/Slumber prevents the blinded from

learning the Word of God.

9. Spirit of heaviness

Isaiah 61:3 To console those who mourn in Zion, To give

them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The

garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they

may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the

LORD, that He may be glorified.”

Broken hearted, continual sadness, crying, death, defeatism,

dejection, despair (hopelessness), discouragement, heartache,

heartbreak, hopelessness, hurt, indifference, inner hurts, insomnia

(sleeplessness), laziness, lethargy, loneliness, mourning, negativity,

passivity, pressure, rejection, restlessness, self-pity, sleepiness,

sorrow, spirit, suicide, tiredness, torment, troubled spirit, weariness,

wounded spirit.

Getting depressed is nothing to be ashamed of, it is a normal human emotion.

The crucial issue is what we do after we experience this emotion.

How does the spirit of heaviness attack someone?

I Kings 19:1-4 Elijah quickly fell into suicidal thoughts from the triumph of killing

the prophets of Baal.

• He forgot the miracle God had just done

• He failed to recognize that Jezebel had more respect for him than he did as she sent only his

messenger than personally threatening him.

• Instead of praying for peace, he allowed fear to cause him flee.

• He separated himself from his servant, at least he would’ve reminded God’s power

• Instead of praying for divine protection, he allowed defeat and suicidal thoughts

Things that trigger spirit of heaviness in us

• Comparing your life and accomplishments with those of others, although things may not always

be as wonderful as they appear.

• Comparing yourself to media images and stereotypes, which are rarely based on average people

• Permitting people to affect you with their perception of what you should be

• Permitting demonic influences to control your mind and perceptions

• Placing trust in others, only to have them fail you

Overcoming the spirit of heaviness

• You must realize that you cannot use physical or secular methods to overcome this

problem!

• Examining the overall state of your mind, and renewing it from any ungodly

perceptions

• Controlling the thoughts that you enable to take root in your mind and heart

• Abstaining from practices and influences that trigger these thoughts and feelings

– People that you associate yourself with

– Books, television and other media

– Fortune-telling, charms, etc.

• Becoming content with your present lifestyle and status

• Fellowshipping with mature believers

• Impregnating your spirit with enough word to overcome these attacks on your mind

and spirit

• Present all your cares to the Lord, who will give you peace

• Think godly thoughts, especially when the enemy is trying to overcome you

• Remaining alert for future attacks

• Praising the Lord as soon as these thoughts occur, and not ceasing until they end

10. Spirit of whoredom

Means both the act or practice of prostitution & worship of idols

instead of God.

Hosea 4:12; 5:4 4 “ They do not direct their deeds Toward turning

to their God, For the spirit of harlotry is in their midst, And they do

not know the LORD. 12 My people ask counsel from their wooden

idols, And their staff informs them. For the spirit of harlotry has

caused them to stray, And they have played the harlot against

their God.

Adultery, chronic dissatisfaction, emotional dissatisfaction,

exhibitionism, exposure, fantasies (lust), fornication, frigidity, harlotry,

homosexuality, idolatry, incest. Love of (lust for): body (sexual), money,

the world, position, authority, social standing. Lust (all kinds),

masturbation, pornography, prostitution, seduction, sensualist, sexual,

sodomy, transvestites (dress like opposite sex), uncontrollable sexual

desires, unfaithfulness, weakness, worldliness.

11. Unclean spirit

Zechariah 13:2 2 “It shall be in that day,” says the LORD of hosts,

“that I will cut off the names of the idols from the land, and they

shall no longer be remembered. I will also cause the prophets and

the unclean spirit to depart from the land.

Matthew 12:43-45 43 “When an unclean spirit goes out of a man,

he goes through dry places, seeking rest, and finds none.

An unclean spirit is simply what the word says, “unclean.” The word means foul, dirty,

filthy, defiled. It also means morally lewd and filthy. Someone with an unclean spirit is

someone who is morally lewd and filthy. They may be spewing forth filth and lewdness

with their mouth, or they may appear to be clean on the outside but fowl and dirty on

the inside.

It is someone who is unclean in their thoughts and language.

The churches are full of people with unclean spirits.

Many preachers have an unclean spirit themselves.

A lot of unclean conversation goes on at church and among those who are called

Christian people.

Like Isaiah, we dwell among a people of unclean lips.

Our world is unclean. What the world can offer today in various forms through media

12. Deaf and dumb spirit

Mark 9:17,25

Then one of the crowd answered and said,

“Teacher, I brought You my son, who has a mute spirit.

When Jesus saw that the people came running together, He

rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it, “Deaf and dumb spirit, I

command you, come out of him and enter him no more!”

Accidents, accidents by burning, accidents by drowning, blindness,

crying, deafness, destruction, dumbness, ear problems,

emotionlessness, epilepsy, eye diseases, fear of fire, fear of water,

foaming at the mouth, gnashing of teeth, infections (chronic),

inner ear problems, insanity, lunatic behavior, madness,

motionless, schizophrenia (emotional instability), seizures, sensing

`the approach of death', stupors (coma), suicide, tearing,

uncontrolled convulsions (fits), wallowing (childish).

13. Spirit of infirmity

Luke 13:11-16 11 And behold, there was a woman who had a spirit

of infirmity eighteen years, and was bent over and could in no way

raise herself up.

Allergies, arthritis, asthma, bent body/spine, bleeding, cancer,

chronic diseases, colds, diseases, disorders, epilepsy, feebleness,

fungus infections, hallucinations (vision), hay fever, heart attack,

impotent, infections, insanity (madness), lameness, lingering

(slow) physical trauma (shock), lingering spirit, mania

(obsession/desire), mental illness, oppression, paralysis, paranoia

(fear), physical disorder, retardation, schizophrenia (psychiatric

disorder), senility (forgetfull), spirit of death, torment, virus,

weakness, wounded spirit.

14. Spirit of divination

• Divination is the attempt to gain insight into a question or situation by way of a

standardized process or ritual. Divination is an attempt to read the future, determine the

will of God, or give practitioners a feeling of being able to control fate. Probably every

religion ever practiced has used some form of divination.

• The Hebrew Bible absolutely condemns it, but priests nonetheless threw some sort of

ritualistic dice called the Urim and Thummin. Romans sometimes went to war on the basis

of what priests saw when they killed an animal and looked at its intestines. Different

objects were thrown, rolled, dropped, tossed, or heated to get results.

• Even today people read cards, tea leaves, or messages in newspaper astrology columns,

convinced they can discover the future. Psychic telephone lines do a big business.

• There are those who demonstrate with great effectiveness that they are able to locate

water with a divining rod. Others claim they can locate lost people after holding a piece of

clothing. Police forces occasionally employ such people, though usually very quietly.

• Whatever the techniques employed, divination is an ancient religious practice, probably

dating to the very first person who prayed to a god and then asked for a sign as proof that

the prayer was heard.

Acts 16:16 Now it happened, as we went to prayer, that a certain slave girl

possessed with a spirit of divination met us, who brought her masters much profit

by fortune-telling.

14. Spirit of divination

Types of Divination

NECROMANCY: Consulting the dead to obtain secret knowledge. This is done usually through a medium

who channels or contacts the spirit.

RHABDOMANCY: The interpretation of the position of rods, arrows, or staffs for divination.

AEROMANCY: Divination by the air and sky. The shapes of clouds, wind and other aerial formations are

studied as signs of future events.

ASTRAGALOMANCY: Using bones, dice, stones or small pieces of wood bearing symbols to divine

answers through interpreting how the objects lie on the ground; or what symbols are facing upwards.

PALMISTRY/CHIROMANCY: Studying the hand and its lines on the palm to determine character and the

future.

PYROMANCY: Fire divination. Things such as leaves, sticks, incense, etc., are thrown into fire. Color,

shape and intensity of the flames are then interpreted.

TASSEOGRAPHY: Divination by tea leaves. Tea is swirled around inside a cup. The cup is then turned

upside down on a saucer. The diviner then interprets the pattern(s) of the leaves remaining inside the

cup.

CARTOMANCY: Cards used for divination. Tarot cards are the most commonly used.

NUMEROLOGY: Divining by numbers. Numerical values are assigned to letters of the alphabet. Names

can be interpreted by their numerical significance.

BIBLIOMANCY: Using a book to divine answers. A book such as the bible is opened at random, while the

diviner points to it while keeping his/her eyes closed. The phrase/paragraph that was selected is then

interpreted as a significant message.

ASTROLOGY: Is divination using celestial bodies: the sun, moon, planets, and stars.

15. Spirit of bondage

Romans 8:15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage

again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by

whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.”

Bondage - Slavery, subjection to some force, compulsion,

or influence, physical restraint etc.

Addictions to: alcohol, caffeine, cigarettes, drugs, food (anorexia(undereating),

bulimia (over eating), etc.), medications (above and beyond prescribed use), and

nicotine (tobacco). Accusation, anguish of spirit, bitterness, brokenhearted, bruised

spirit, compulsive behavior, criticism, dominance, dominated by others (soul ties),

doubting salvation, embarrassment, false burden, false compassion, false guilt,

false responsibility, faultfinding, fear of death, fears, feeling "lost", frustration,

gluttony(greed), inability to break free, judging, nervousness, no assurance of

salvation, oppression, possessiveness, pressure, resentment(anger), restlessness,

self condemnation, self accusation, self-hatred, self-pity, shame, spiritual blindness,

unworthiness.

16. Spirit of slumber

Romans 11:8 8 Just as it is written: “ God has given them a

spirit of stupor (unconsciousness, coma), Eyes that they

should not see And ears that they should not hear, To this

very day.”

A slumbering spirit counters the normal function of your own human

spirit.

•In the function of Corporate Worship you should feel the presence of

the Lord. The slumbering spirit will prevent you from feeling or being

aware of the presence of God.

•In the function of Private Devotion and Prayer you should get

inspiration from the Word and prayer. The slumbering spirit will

prevent you enjoying the water of the Word. The Word would be dry

and you would have no prayer life.

•In the function of your Ability to hear God (dreams, visions, etc. ) you

should receive revelations from God (His Word). The slumbering

spirit will prevent you from hearing God’s voice.

•In the function of being Inspired of the Holy Spirit you should receive

Divine inspiration. The slumbering spirit prevents you from getting

inspired; dull Christian walk.

•In the function of Transcending Time (go beyond); Future and Hope

you should remember good times and look forward and grasp hope

for the future. The slumbering spirit says to you that you have no

hope for the future and can’t remember much good.

•In the function of Commune and Communicating with Others you

spiritually awake people and meet each other through their spirits.

The slumbering spirit does not want you spending time with other

Christians.

•In the function of Giving God Glory for Marital Sexual Union Married

Christians should enjoy sex often. The slumbering spirit does not have any

desire or intimacy.

•In the function of Walking in Devine Health from Disease and Illness A

Christian should enjoy good health. The slumbering spirit is sick long and

often; hypochondriac (imaginary illness).

•In the function of having a Good Conscience . Our conscience should work

before an event to keep us out of trouble, and afterwards, merely to

convict us of sin. The slumbering spirit didn’t think about it until too late.

•In the function that Opens us up to the realm of the Spirit. You should be

aware of the spiritual realm. The slumbering spirit is never conscious of

demonic activity or of the Holy Spirit.

•The slumbering spirit causes remorse (regret or sorrow) instead of

repentance after sin. Remorse is self centered.

The Church must reach out to the slumbering in genuine Love. We must

father them and incubate the inner man to come to life. Gal 4:19.

17. Spirit of fear

2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but

of power and of love and of a sound mind.

What ifs…?

What if my health goes down?

What if I lose my job?

What if my children don’t care for me?

What if disaster comes upon my family?

What if someone threatens me?

…many more.

Fear of any of the following: authority, danger, dark, death, failure,

persecution, poverty, nightmares, phobias, stress, suspicion, tension,

terror

18. Spirit of lust

• God has created human with strong sex drive

• It starts at the time of puberty due to the secretion of hormones

• But due to the sinful nature of man, he fuels the sex desire in

different ways

• The ungodly society takes it further with access to dirty jokes,

pornography, girl friend/boy friend concepts, premarital sex,

masturbation, clubs, dance along with intoxication etc.

• Repeatedly carrying out the same sin opens the door for spirit to

come in. Once the spirit of lust comes in it controls over the life and

make it impossible to come out.

• Such people never be satisfied, even after marriage.

under the influence of spirit of lust.

They are

• It doesn’t leave anyone, how much ever spiritual we are, we fal;l if

we are not extremely careful.

19. Spirit of antichrist

1 John 4:3 and every spirit that does not confess that

Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this

is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was

coming, and is now already in the world.

Acting against: God, Christ, Christ's testimony, His teaching, the

doctrine of Christ, the miracles of God, the word. Attacks the

saints, attempts to rationalize Christ, blasphemes, deceit, denies

the blood, denies the deity of Christ, denies the humanity/divinity

of Christ, denies the work of the Holy Spirit, displays open

unbelief, harasses the saints, Humanism (people centric),

lawlessness/disorder, legalism, opposes the fellowship of Christ,

opposes the ministry, persecutes the body, self-exalting, stirs up

strife between the saints, worldliness.

20. Spirit of error

1 John 4:6 We are of God. He who knows God hears us;

he who is not of God does not hear us. By this we know

the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.

•We cannot just accept anyone who claims they have the Spirit;

•we cannot just let our minds fall under the influence of any spirit.

•It may be the spirit of error.

•The only way to know is to read the Word of God.

•You cannot believe everything you hear!

•John says: Do not believe everybody who claims they are telling you

what you ought to believe and do.

•Do not accept every teacher's claim that he is telling you what the Holy

Spirit revealed. Try the spirits; test all religious teaching!

•Which religious teachers today, should we apply this test to? Every

single one of them! Every other preacher or teacher you might listen to,

and every author you read.

20. Spirit of error

• Never think that if a man is popular and brings in huge crowds, that

means he must be teaching the truth!

• Never think that if a man is a good public speaker and can hold the

attention of an audience, that means he must be teaching the truth.

• Never think that if you like the person, he must be teaching the truth.

• Never think that if a man has been baptized and is a member of a local

church of Christ, he has to be a perfect teacher of truth.

• Never think that if a man quotes a lot of Scripture, he must be teaching

the truth.

• Never think that if a man has academic, educational credentials, he

must be teaching the truth!!

• There is only one way to determine if a man is teaching the truth. See if

what he says is in the Bible!! Not just one verse. The Bible as a whole.

In order to make that determination we need to know the Word. Read

and study your Bible!

21. Seducing spirit

• 1 Timothy 4:1 Now the Spirit expressly says that in the latter

times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing

• He is gradually pulled through compromise and justification, until he is

trapped and deactivated

• In this way, the believer is effectively neutralized from making any difference

in the Kingdom, and may actually find himself opposing it.

• There are several examples in the Word of this type of behavior - Balaam or

Judas Iscariot, Miriam and Korah, in addition to the Pharisees of Jesus' day.

• The operation of a seducing spirit:

– Pulls one away from God, even if it promises to bring him closer

– Makes wrong seem right

– Makes excuses

– Feeds personal pride

– Encourages a hidden life – dishonesty

– Separates one from God-ordained relationships

22. Spirit of Egypt [spirit of the world]

Isaiah 19:3 The spirit of Egypt will fail in its midst; I will destroy their

counsel, And they will consult the idols and the charmers, The mediums and

the sorcerers.

1 John 2:15-16 [Do Not Love the World] 15 Do not love the world or the

things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in

him. 16 For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes,

and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world.

Numbers 11:4-6 so the children of Israel also wept again and said: “Who will

give us meat to eat? 5 We remember the fish which we ate freely in Egypt,

the cucumbers, the melons, the leeks, the onions, and the garlic; 6 but now

our whole being is dried up; there is nothing at all except this manna before

our eyes!”

– a spirit that tries to take us back to the old sinful life

– a spirit that makes us enjoy the pleasures of the world

– a spirit that tries to replace the love towards God by the worldly

love.

Ephesians 2:2 in which you once walked according to the

course of this world, according to the prince of the

power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of

disobedience,

This spirit works in five different ways:

1. We may do what He has forbidden us to do.

2. We may refuse or fail to do what He has commanded.

3. We may add to His word.

4. We may take from His Word.

5. We may substitute His word.

What Are the Symptoms of Indwelling Spirits?

1) Emotional Problems: Persistent and/or recurring disturbances in the area of the

emotions: resentment, anger, fear, rejection, self-pity, depression, insecurity, etc.

2) Mental Problems: Disturbances in the mind and thought life: mental torment,

procrastination (postpone doing something), indecision, confusion, doubt,

rationalizations, loss of memory.

3) Speech Problems: Outbursts or uncontrolled use of the tongue: lying, cursing,

criticism, gossip, etc.

4) Sex Problems: Compulsive, recurring unclean thoughts and acts: fantasy sexual

thoughts, lusts, perversions, masturbation, pornography, seduction, homosexual

tendencies, etc.

5) Addictions: Examples of bondage in this area: nicotine, alcohol, drugs, food,

television, trashy novels, unhealthy and dependent relationships, etc.

6) Physical Infirmities: Physical afflictions due to spirits of infirmity: arthritis, skin

diseases, cancers, headaches, heart problems, allergy etc.

7) Religious Error: Any degree of involvement in the following can bring about severe

demonization: the occult or related practices; Eastern religions; secret societies and

mystery cults; psychological practices to control body condition and spiritual

attainments, unscriptural doctrines and teachings, etc.

How do these spirits gain access?

1. Through the Family Line

Sins of the Fathers passed down to the children of the 3 rd

and 4 th generation – Exodus 20:5

• Personalities, traits, attitudes and characteristics, and

physical weaknesses and infirmities.

• This “passing down the line” occurs physiologically

through the hereditary genes and the bloodline.

• It also occurs spiritually through curses and blights

(disease that leaves scar) on the life because of

involvement in the occult, secret and mystical

societies, etc.

2. Through Deception (Believing true to be a lie or false to be true.)

Lie about God: He doesn’t love you, He is mad at you. Wrong

understanding about God by twisting His Word

Truth: God loves you, He has forgiven you.

Lies about yourself: You are not good, You will never amount to

anything.

Truth: You are a child of God, you can do all things through Christ

Lies about others: Everyone else is rejecting you, they don’t have

the problem you have

Truth: You are called to love others regardless, others go through

struggle as you do

Lies about Devil: He is powerful, you can not fight him, you need to

afraid of him

Truth: He has no legitimate authority over you, you have authority

over him, and he’s very much afraid of you when you know who


you are in Christ.

4. Through Transferred Control:

One can come under the control of demonic forces through the

influence of people, situations and events that surround him.

A believer is susceptible to:

• Rebellious or judgmental attitude of his coworkers

• Unhealthy attitude that may pervade his church or ministry

• Influence of the spiritual power according to the majority (peer

pressure, mob psychology, conformity, following the crowd, etc)

5. Through Soul Ties:

A soul tie is the joining or knitting together of the bonds of a

relationship.

Godly soul ties occur when like minded believers are together in

the Lord – Friends, marriage partner, business partner, among

believers, believer & pastor.

Ungodly soul ties can happen due to relationships that lack God

centeredness.

Partners who are idol worshipers

Partners who are immoral

Friends who are ungodly

Believers and pastors who live in secret sins

6. Through Curses:

A curse is simply wishing evil on another. Curses can provide

openings for demonic influence in several ways.

Self-inflicted curses (speaking negative & evil about himself)

“I Just can’t do my job,” “I’m so afraid that I’ll get sick,” “I don’t

believe that I’ll ever change in this area”.

Other-inflicted curses Curses that are directed towards other’s

lives, homes, families and businesses.

Three Step Procedure For Deliverance

Confession:

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us

our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (I John 1:9).

Once you confess the influence of the evil spirit, you need the

Demand firmly in the name of Jesus all the evil spirit to leave you.

Spirits that are not strongly rooted will leave.

Seek support from other believers for the strong ones.

A common prayer may not be enough, we need to gain victory

over one by one.

Once the demons leave,

Physical pains will leave

Headaches and nagging throbs may disappear

Tormenting thoughts may stop

Voices of accusation may cease

Pressures around the mind may release.
