Dear guest,
Introduction
the safety and health of our guests is the top
priority at Europa-Park. Our engineers and
technicians, working closely with Germany’s
Technical Inspection Services (TÜV), constantly
check and inspect our facilities to ensure
precisely that.
As a guest, you should enjoy what we have to
offer at Europa-Park without any worries and to
the fullest extent possible.
Some of our attractions place greater demands on
the body and psyche than are usual in everyday life
due to their respective movements, speeds, restraint
systems and the entertainment effects deployed.
Any potential evacuation of an attraction
that may become necessary also represents a particular
burden. These increased requirements and
the resulting guidelines for the safe use of amusement
rides are laid down in industry standard DIN
13814, and compliance therewith is monitored by
Germany’s Technical Inspection Services (TÜV).

speaking, be granted for guests with disabilities or
health restrictions.

General information on the use
of the attractions
Please use an attraction only if you are in sufficiently
good health to do so. If you are unsure
whether an attraction is suitable for you, please
consult your doctor before visiting Europa-Park
and contact our guest services.
Please observe the attractions’ ride manoeuvres
and the restraint systems in place before you go
on the ride and/or speak to our employees at the
information points and attractions. They will be
happy to answer your questions and explain the
attractions.
Please note the following points:
• Some attractions have a minimum age, a minimum
height and a maximum height restriction. If
a person exceeds or falls short of such restrictions,
admission cannot be granted. You will find a
measuring rod at the entrance to the attractions,
which will allow you to check the respective restrictions.
Our employees will be happy to help you.
• Some of our rides, such as the blue fire Megacoaster,
Silver Star, Voltron Nevera powered by
Rimac and WODAN - Timburcoaster, exert significant
lift-off forces on the body. These attractions
therefore use special restraint systems. Individuals
who, due to a large thigh and/or body
circumference, cannot allow these restraint
systems to function properly, cannot be granted
access to the attraction. You will find a trial seat
at the entrance of these attractions to check the
proper fit of the restraint system in advance.

• Individuals who are under the noticeable influence
of alcohol, narcotics or medication cannot be
granted access to the attraction.
• Guests with acute injuries or who have recently
had an operation may not be granted access to
the attractions.
• Assistance dogs are allowed on the park’s means
of transport (EP-Express, Panorama Train,
Monorail). With the exception of the Euro-Tower
attraction, dogs are not allowed on the rides.
• Loose, pointed or bulky objects, or medical aids
may not be taken onto an attraction, as they
could be ejected while the ride is in operation,
endangering or injuring other guests. These
items must be deposited in the storage facilities
provided, or must be stowed safely during the
journey. If you need to be evacuated from the
attraction, your medically necessary aids – such
as a cane for the blind – will be brought to you.
• Boarding and alighting the attraction must be
done independently. If necessary, with the help
of an accompanying person of at least 16 years
of age who is able to walk, see and hear without
restriction.
• Communication with our employees must be ensured
and their instructions must be followed.
You must have the ability to recognise information
signs and/or loudspeaker announcements.
If necessary, the provision of information must
be ensured by an accompanying person of at
least 16 years of age who is unrestricted in their
capacity to walk, see and hear.

• For disabled individuals who may use an
attraction, evacuation may take longer, as it may
be done by specially trained staff.
Information on the use of
an attraction by visitors
with physical disabilities
This information brochure gives an overview
of which attractions can be used with certain
physical disabilities. You will also find in it information
on the prerequisites for use and special stress
factors when the attraction is in motion, or in the
event of a possible evacuation.
At some of our attractions
• significant forces can occur due to sudden
changes in direction, rapid changes in speed or
changes in position.
• speed and manoeuvres can be controlled by the
passenger.
• there may be steps, thresholds, automatic
opening/closing doors and fall edges.
• in the event of any necessary evacuation it must
be possible to manage partly narrow footbridges,
narrow and steeper stairs, narrow passages
or the transfer to rescue platforms, if necessary
quickly.

It may be the case at some attractions that you
are allocated specific places in or on the attraction.
This is done to reduce the potential risk of
injury and to facilitate access in the event of an
evacuation.
As diverse as the range of our attractions is, so are
the various physical disabilities. Due to your physical
limitations and the dynamic movements of the
respective attraction, the ride experience may be
uncomfortable for you. You can best assess yourself
and your abilities. Please observe the attractions
ride features before use and ask our employees
about the attraction if need be. If you are
unsure as to whether an attraction is suitable for
you, please refrain from riding on it. We are certain
that our large range of attractions will still offer
you a satisfying selection of eventful moments.

Information on the use
of attractions by guests
in wheelchairs
Most of our attractions can be used by guests
with walking disabilities. Many of our attractions
can also be accessed with a wheelchair. However,
when accessing attractions, independent transfer
from the wheelchair to the attraction is required.
The transfer can also be done with the help of an
accompanying person. At present, barrier-free access
is not yet possible at some attractions . Here,
longer distances or steps have to be negotiated in
some cases to be able to use the attraction.
Except for category 1 attractions – no requirements
– the following minimum requirements
apply to guests who are impaired as a result of
paraplegia:
• The upper body must be able to move independently
in a controlled manner from the level of
the lumbar vertebrae, and there must be sufficient
muscle strength to compensate for the
forces exerted by the attraction and to maintain
a stable riding position throughout the ride.
• Both legs must be present at least to the
ankles.
• At least one normally formed arm with hand
must be present and fully functional.

Guests with tetraplegia (complete paralysis of all
four extremities) can only ride attractions in category
1 - no requirements. In this case, the above
mentioned minimum requirements do not apply.
Note: On the ARTHUR, blue fire Megacoaster, Poppy
Towers, Silver Star, Voltron Nevera powered by
Rimac and Vienna Wave Swing attractions, the legs
must be held together at the ankle with a strap.
The blue fire Megacoaster attraction also has a
transfer system (lift) to assist guests with paraplegia
(paralysis of both legs) who are unable
to transfer onto the train themselves or with the
assistance of an accompanying person. If you
would like to use this service, please contact our
attraction employees.
The following overview shows whether a ride is
accessible to paraplegics and whether there is
barrier-free access to the attraction.

Information on the use of
attractions as a visitor with an
amputation / with prostheses
Some attractions may have a limit on the
maximum number of prosthetically fitted limbs
and/or the maximum amputation height.
In addition, it is not possible to ride on all
attractions with prostheses due to the increased
risk of injury to you and others, or because the
prostheses may restrict the operation of the
restraint systems.
Important: In this case, a ride may still be possible
if the minimum physical requirements of the
attraction (according to the relevant category) are
still met without the use of prostheses.
Prostheses must sit firmly on the body during the
entire journey. Hand and arm prostheses must always
be additionally fixed to the carriage, e.g. to a
grab rail, during the entire journey.
The most important criterion is that the proper
functioning of the restraint systems that ensure
passenger safety is guaranteed. This is not the
case, for example, when restraint systems that
lock in close proximity to the body rest on the prosthetic
limb and not on the natural leg.

Classification of the attractions and
the respective requirements
Our attractions are divided into four categories
each of which requires certain minimum physical
requirements of the guest to be granted access.
Aside from a visitor’s generally healthy physical
and mental condition, the two most important
criteria for using attractions that fall under
category 2, 3 and 4 are:
• Full control of the upper body from the lumbar
vertebrae upwards, in order to exert the
appropriate force to compensate for the movements
of the ride that may occur and to maintain
a stable driving position throughout the journey.
• The presence and functionality of legs and
arms to support or fix oneself in the attraction.
Support or fixation can also be done with
prostheses, if needed.
Below you will find the explanations pertaining to
the individual categories of our attractions and
the respective physical requirements. As a rule of
thumb, the higher the category, the higher the forces
exerted when using the attraction. This also
increases the necessary requirements for a person’s
physical capacity, to ensure safe use.

Category 1 (No requirements)
Attractions in this category mainly perform slow
movements and the loads that occur largely
correspond to everyday situations.
• Only low stresses are exerted on the upper
body in terms of functionality and the ability
to withstand the forces that occur. It is sufficient
if the passenger can assume the intended
ride position for the entire journey by means
of a technical aid, e.g. wheelchair or by an
accompanying person.
• There are no requirements for the presence and
functionality of arms with hands or legs
• Legs and arms can also be prosthetically
fitted.

Category 2 (two-point support)
Attractions in this category perform slow to
medium-fast movements. The stresses that
occur sometimes exceed those you would find in
everyday situations. Jolts and jerky movements
can also occur, for example.
• The passenger must be able to
- support themself with both legs on the floor
or
- with both natural thighs on the complete
seat surface (up to the front edge of the seat
surface) and fix themself in position with both
arms.
• Legs and arms can also be prosthetically
fitted. The maximum number of prosthetically
fitted limbs may be limited depending on the
attraction.
Note: Visitors who are impaired due to paraplegia
must fulfil special minimum requirements (see

wheelchairs‘)

Category 3 (three-point support)
Attractions in this category perform mediumfast
movements. The stresses that occur often
exceed those of everyday situations. Significant
jolts and jerky movements can also occur, for
example. Stresses can also occur over a longer
period of time, sometimes for the duration of the
entire experience.
• The passenger must be able to support themself
- with both legs on the ground and fix themself
in place with one arm
or
- support themself with one leg on the floor and
be able to fix themself in place with both arms
or
- support themself on the entire seat surface
with both natural thighs (up to the front edge
of the seat surface) and be able to fix themself
in place with both arms.
• Legs and arms can also be prosthetically fitted.
The maximum number of prosthetically fitted
limbs may be limited depending on the attraction.
Note: Visitors who are impaired due to paraplegia
must fulfil special minimum requirements (see
‚Information on the use of attractions by guests in
wheelchairs‘)

Category 4 (three-point support plus)
Attractions in this category often perform very
fast movements. The stresses that occur
significantly exceed those of everyday situations.
For example, more significant jolts, strong jerky
movements and major instances of acceleration,
sometimes in different directions at the same
time, occur. The stresses occur predominantly for
the duration of the entire experience. In addition,
an overhead motion can also take place.
• The passenger must have at least both legs to
the ankle and must be able to restrain themself
with at least one functioning arm with hand.
• Legs and arms can also be prosthetically
fitted. The maximum number of prosthetically
fitted limbs may be limited depending on the
attraction.
Note: Visitors who are impaired due to paraplegia
must fulfil special minimum requirements (see
‚Information on the use of attractions by guests in
wheelchairs‘)
