questionaries of the children at the
ages of 6 and 12 and through their IQ
with academic achievement reports.
The 6-year long results showed that
children that had normal, regular
breakfast patterns were linked with a
higher IQ and enhanced cognitive
function, especially with consumption
of grains and meat or eggs.
Therefore, since there is no evidence
that that mineral and vitamin
supplementation aids in academic
performance, it can be concluded that
the actual consumption of food
(breakfast) is what helps students be
more attentive and increase learning
throughout the school day. Free
breakfast programs at schools have
shown through research to enhance
all cognitive functioning, attendance,
and school performance in students.
Thus, eating breakfast is the best way
to improve the ability to learn in
children and increase school
performance.3
