Discovering a golden eagle in the wild requires patience and luck, even in the Valley of the<br />
Eagles in the National Park of <strong>Berchtesgaden</strong>. But there is also another way to experience the<br />
majestic bird of prey up close: Directly below the Kempinski Hotel <strong>Berchtesgaden</strong> on the<br />
Obersalzberg is the eagle sanctuary of Falkner Wolfgang Czech.<br />

The privately run falconry at Obersalzberg has<br />
existed since 1953. The birds of prey from<br />
Wolfgang Czech’s eagle enclosure have already<br />
appeared in well-known television and film<br />
productions, such as:<br />

Marmots, Reptiles, and more<br />
Not only eagles, but also other wild animals have found a new home in the wildlife enclosure<br />
at Obersalzberg: marmots, viper, fish, birds of prey such as owls, hawks, buzzards, and many<br />
more. The birds of prey are trained by falconer Wolfgang Czech for movies, sick birds are<br />
cared for, and then released back into the wild. In the eagle enclosure at Obersalzberg there<br />
is no show operation, but free-running marmots.<br />
