Our story<br />
Cinas was founded under the name Carl J.<br />
Nielsen in 1903.<br />
Since the 1980s, the company has developed<br />
into the design, import and distribution company<br />
that we see today.<br />
All of our products are made with carefully<br />
selected manufacturers in the Far East, where<br />
the cooperation has functioned for generations.<br />
High-quality requirements are incorporated into<br />
this network, ensuring that our products always<br />
live up to our quality and finishing standards.<br />
We focus on furniture and accessories that<br />
emphasize their simplicity and functional<br />
expression, but still with a stylish edge with our<br />
design philosophy in mind: “A design is<br />
incomplete until someone uses it.”<br />

Ellen<br />
Nearby the sea in Denmark, Ellen and her husband enjoyed<br />
dinners with family and friends in their garden during the summer,<br />
many years ago. The center of their company was an old set of<br />
furniture with beauty, comfort and heart. Design, materials and<br />
comfort were gently reworked into our version of the classic set<br />
and brought to life again; named after the Lady of the house.<br />

We use Java teakwood to manufacture<br />
our furniture. Among the other hardwoods<br />
commonly used for outdoor<br />
furniture, many are referred to as ‘teak<br />
substitutes’. But there is no substitute<br />
for teak, and in outdoor conditions, no<br />
other hardwood in the world performs to<br />
the same high quality standards as teak.<br />
Simply put, teak is the best hardwood in<br />
the world for untreated wooden outdoor<br />
furniture.<br />
With its balanced natural oil content, mahogany has proved itself over time as<br />
the best material for painted outdoor furniture. Prior to assembly, we apply several<br />
layers of paint to each component to ensure optimal protection and outdoor<br />
resistance. This strong smooth painted surface highlights the flowing modern<br />
lines of each piece of Cinas furniture.<br />

For consumers and producers alike, it can be difficult to know whether a piece of timber comes<br />
from a sustainable forest. To help ensure that we are sourcing timber responsibly, Cinas supports<br />
certification systems that document its path from the forest, all the way to the consumer. As a<br />
minimum Cinas requirement, all teak and mahogany used in our products comes with a V-legal<br />
document from the Indonesian government agency Perum Perhutani.<br />

Our powder-coated aluminum furniture<br />
is rustproof, easy to clean, and requires<br />
only minimum maintenance. All Cinas<br />
aluminum frames are offered in our<br />
classical ‘glossy powder coating’, with<br />
several items now also available in a<br />
contemporary new ‘matt anthracite<br />
powder coating’. Combine various types<br />
of tables, seating types and cushions to<br />
create a selection for your every mood<br />
and preference.<br />

produce chairs without tools, screws,<br />
or glue.<br />
Our flexible U-shaped polypropylene<br />
lamellas feature our own unique<br />
T-shaped grip system for easy insertion<br />
in a rail inside an aluminum frame.<br />
Our garden umbrellas are water-repellent<br />
and treated for UV+50 resistance. Poles<br />
are available in teak color hardwood and<br />
aluminium, with several size options to<br />
suit a variety of applications. The hub<br />
and runner are made of strong polyresin,<br />
and fittings have a satin finish. The<br />
umbrella fabric is reinforced with double<br />
stitching, and leather patches enhance<br />
the strength of the corner pockets. Choose<br />
covers to suit your market: Standard<br />
Polyester (235gr/m 2 ) or Olefin (210gr/m 2 ).<br />
Umbrella bases in concrete (including<br />
wheels) are available with the patented<br />
