BASEBALL STADIUMS
This section presents a few of the entirely original stadiums custom-built just for
UBO. If you are constructing actual Major League Baseball (MLB) baseball stadiums
under an MLB license, every attempt is regularly made to replicate the look of the actual
ballpark, down to the smallest of details. In this case, there is true freedom to create a
new and unique-looking ballpark for players.
Figure E-10 demonstrates an outdoor stadium as seen from the third-base line.
Figure E-11 represents another view of this stadium from a different camera position
out in deep left field.
Figure E-12 shows another original outdoor stadium taken from UBO representing
the look and feel of classic ballpark construction (notice the structure shading and
the wear on the grass!).
Figure E-13 represents an example of an indoor or domed/covered stadium. For
each of these stadiums, whether indoor or outdoor, it’s always a challenge to get all of
the construction details just right for players (the lighting, the look and feel, the audio,
the wear and tear details). Without each element working together, the illusion for
the player is broken. Developers try their best to avoid this scenario at all costs.
