in Asia? You have no access to the carriers while sitting with the phone in the United<br />

States, so the phone hardware must be shipped back and forth to make changes to<br />

<strong>game</strong> content. This is not a very effective development route.<br />

It’s important to consider which kinds of <strong>game</strong>s work well so far for the cell phone<br />

handset. This is by no means an exhaustive list, but <strong>game</strong>s that tend to work well<br />

include the following:<br />

� Low-intensity shooters Performance-related issues determine the speed or<br />

intensity of a shooter <strong>game</strong>. Don’t expect the same kind of experience available<br />

on a <strong>Game</strong>boy Advance just yet. Remember that the <strong>Game</strong>boy Advance is<br />

a portable platform with custom-engineered hardware built specifically for<br />

running <strong>game</strong>s. Cell phone handsets simply can’t blast sprites on the screen<br />

and move them around with great speed (like a <strong>Game</strong>boy Advance). In short,<br />
