Moving forward from where he left off – as a hotelier and
public relations expert – to a private life away from the center
of things, Michael Anthony Sagaran goes back to what he was
trained for – art. As a graduate of fine arts from the University of
Sto. Tomas, Michael has always kept his paint brushes on hand,
ready to put on canvas images or ideas that have interested or
inspired him.
“Moving Forward,” an exhibit of acrylic paintings of various
modes of transportation, is not just a metaphor for everybody’s
aspiration to “fast forward” to a new normal in life but an urge
as well to move on by whatever means we have. Michael’s
collection of paintings of iconic cars, scooters, jeepney and
motorcycles executed in vivid colors is a celebration of vibrancy
of life after the grimness of the pandemic and lockdowns.
“Of Art and Wine: Moving Forward” at Conrad Manila’s
Gallery C runs from August 30 to October 22, 2022. For more

Michael Anthony Sagaran’s
creations showcase mankind’s
brilliance in creating iconic
products that enhance human
experience.
MOVING Forward
Sagaran draws his inspiration and stylings from Impressionist
Artists, as he shares that it is here where visual art
evolved into different movements such as Expressionist,
Surrealism, Contemporary, among others. Some of his
favorite artists include French painters Claude Monet
and Frederic Bazille, and for Northern Renaissance
art, masters Hieronymus Bosch and Jan van Eyck.
With a preference for acrylic on canvas, Sagaran’s first
online exhibit was in partnership with ArtPH Online during
the height of the global pandemic. Entitled ‘Vespa History
Series,’ the online exhibit featured 9 iconic models of the
Italian brand. The online exhibit garnered much success and
acclaim.
