A motto I live by
and love sharing
with people
is, “Life is 5% of
what happens to
you and 95% of
how you respond
to it.” That’s so
powerful when
you apply it!
We can always
choose how we’ll
respond, and it’s
the biggest test
of our character
in tough situations.
A tool
F
rom myself
and our amazing
team here at
Green Dynamix, we hope you’ve had a memorable
start to your summer season! Inside,
you’ll find some insights and highlights we hope
you’ll enjoy reading as much as we enjoy sharing
them with you. I’ll kick things off by asking
you a question – Who’s writing your next
chapter?
Greetings!

with me is ask yourself if your responses and
decisions align with your values and goals. If
they do, you’ll never question who holds the
pen in your book. There’s value in that for life
and business!
My summer chapter has been packed full
of changes and FUN! Check out some of my
personal summer highlights in the photos
and captions. At Green Dynamix, our first
Core Value is Continually Improving. From
strengthening inventory and order accuracy
to construction projects in our distribution
yard, our next chapter is dialed in
to getting better so we can serve you, our
customer, better. I’m excited for what’s to
come!
We’re exhibiting
if you’re up for a fun challenge!
We’re also giving away a 52 Quart
RTIC cooler, which you can enter
to win by leaving your
business
card or
contact information.
We look
forward to
connecting
with you at
The Landscape
Show
this year. As
always, we
aim to be
the Highlight
of Your Day!
I hope your
next chapter is the best yet!
Cheers to all your
endeavours!

W
hat do you do when you can’t find the right specs on materials for your job? While
market availability has improved for some items, others are still hit or miss. Items
that seemed nearly impossible to acquire are slowly coming back to light, but in smaller
sizes. So how can you still create the same result for your customers? If substituting material
won’t work for your client, developing an open line of communication about a long-term
approach goal and current market availability trends can make a big difference!
The goal is always a beautiful, full and inviting landscape. However, people forget plants
will thrive and flush quickly with the right nutrients, watering schedule, and proper soil.
We checked in on a customer who installed a large quantity of 3-gallon Wax Myrtles at a job
site in April. The project called for a larger size than was available, but they decided on the
smaller, matching quantity. By doing a little more prep work at the installation – adding a
good fertilizer and ensuring the conditions were right for the plants – the Wax Myrtles more
than doubled in size in only three months’ time!
Of course, we understand there are different challenges between your commercial and
residential jobs. Another customer recently reached out looking for a 6 - 7’ tall Banana Tree,
a special request their customer envisioned as a focal point in their landscape. We pride
ourselves in honest, open communication on availability and we want to offer solutions
when our customer can look at other options. A tree meeting that spec was unavailable at
the time. We offered a solution of planting the largest spec that was ready to ship, adding
the right fertilizer and ensuring the conditions at installation would foster optimal growth.
Within a year, the Banana Tree could grow into the focal point their customer wanted – and
at a lower cost for the landscaper!
Another way you can value engineer your jobs and greatly reduce the need to replace
plants later is by ensuring you have the right combination of soil health, PH level, adequate
irrigation, and fertilizer. We generally recommend one with twice as much phosphorus
or potassium, such as a 10-20-10 or 12-24-12, as good options at installation.
What do we know about plants? Take care of them and they will grow!
Whether your customer is open to adjustments, or you’re asked to leave an
empty space for material in the future, adopting a long-term approach outlook
and communicating the reality of availability trends can fertilize your
business’s bottom line and your customers’ satisfaction.

Do your research on the exchange currency for
each area you visit. Tipping for service is something
we struggled with because we weren’t sure
if we were over or under tipping. On the way
back to the airport, we tipped our shuttle driver
$20, which was almost $3 per person. He said
he could not accept it (around 400 pesos). To us,
it was a reasonable amount. We were just
happy we could bless him that day!
Where would you like to travel next?
Greece and Thailand! We’re already planning
next year’s big trip. Greece, I’d
like to visit because of
Summer is for taking trips of a lifetime!
One of our team members and Account
Executive, Mariela Caballero, had the opportunity
to visit Mexico recently. We asked her
to share some of her “highlight” moments
with us. While on vacation, she was able to
visit Cancun as well as other cities surrounding
it, including
Isla Mujeres and
Xcaret. Check out
what she had to say
about the trip!
What will you always
remember?
I would say the hospitality.
From the servers
to the cab drivers, everyone
made our stay so comfortable.
We got to experience culture
differences from each state
– different styles of cooking and
traditional dances. Xcaret was
my favorite place! We got to swim
in a lazy river through caves with
bats! Our resort was in Cancun,
so we got to experience a lot of the
night life in that area. Compared
to Guanajuato, where my parents
are from, it was completely different.
Everyone spoke English very well and we used
American money. Cancun is very tourist centric,
but overall it was a priceless experience!
Any travel tips?
the incredible scenery.
Thailand is an affordable
travel destination with
some hidden gems I want to
explore, such as the Phi Phi Islands
and the White Temple in Chiang Rai.

We had the pleasure of welcoming
Slayton Morrow to the Green Dynamix
team last month in the role of
Business Development. Slayton earned
a Bachelor’s degree in Business from
the University of South Florida and has
worked in multiple facets of sales since
graduating. He assists in
strengthening the relationships
with our customers,
helping attune
to each of their unique
needs, and serves our
customer base in the
Jacksonville, FL area
market. His enthusiastic
energy and personable
approach to
every interaction
make him a great
addition to help our
team grow! A native of Jacksonville,
Slayton is also a diehard Jacksonville Jaguars fan
and loves to go fishing, work out, go to nice restaurants
and nap on the beach. He’s engaged
to marry his fiancé, Brianne, in 2023
and they have two cats they absolutely
adore. We’re thrilled to have Slayton on
board the Green Dynamix team!

T
he Landscape Show, hosted by FNGLA,
is coming up quickly, August 24th - 26th,
at the Orange County Convention Center in
Orlando! Add Green Dynamix to your itinerary
for a chance to win this cooler and get in
on a fun challenge we’ll have at our booth.
Our team is excited to connect with you
again this year and as always, we’ll have a variety
of SWAG items to give away through the
entire event. See you there!

An outstanding bloom
producer, the Sweet
Drift® Rose variety is one
of our favorites in the landscape,
typically blooming
from late spring to first frost.
Delicately pink in color with intricate
petals, this Drift® Rose’s individual
blooms are only outshone by the
number of blooms it produces. It’s
also one of the very few that carry a
slight fragrance. They
are hardy, low maintenance
groundcover
roses suitable for zones
4 – 11 that prefer full
sun. The Sweet Drift®
Rose will do okay in a
variety of soil types if
it has adequate drainage,
but ideally
it prefers
a loam soil
with a neutral
pH between
5.5 –
6.5. Because of
their low spreading
habit, they are considered
a fantastic option
for smaller spaces. At maturity,
they will reach 2’ – 3’ in height
and spread 4’ – 5’ in width. Once
established, they require very little
attention and are disease resistant.
