50 WORKSHOP Powder understanding AkzoNobel Powder Coatings has innovated a new web application 3D colour visualization tool within its Interpon webshop to help customers better understand how a powder coating’s colour, texture and finish that looks good in theory, will actually appear in reality. The tool gives customers instant access to thousands of colours in the Interpon range. Through the clever use of a 360- degree dynamic camera and simulated lighting, the customer is given a true-to-life image of how the colour performs to a degree of accuracy and realism not possible before in a virtual environment. Rather than the image being ‘flat’, the customer can orientate the ‘virtual’ panel to see how the light reflects and the colour looks from different angles. It gives a true impression of how surfaces coated in special finishes and metal effects will appear in a way that it unprecedently realistic. They can also see multiple colours, multiple gloss levels and Partner products Curtiss-Wright Surface Technologies, Everlube Coating Products have partnered with BioCote to expand their fluoropolymer coating product range to create Fluregiene 200: an antimicrobial coating that is ideally suited for many surfaces and environments. Based on existing Everlube coating technology, the new Fluregiene 200 is a fluoropolymer coating that offers low friction, easy-clean properties combined various surface finishes before deciding upon which is best. Customers can experience colour as if they looked at panels in their hands without having to order a sample and waiting for it to arrive. With a view to improving hygiene standards, Everlub Coatings have integrated BioCote® antimicrobial technology to protect the coating from microbes such as bacteria, mould and fungi. Benefits of applying antimicrobial technology into the Fluregiene 200 include: Anti-fouling Low COF Surface coating (0.08 – 0.2 static) Corrosion resistance and excellent Powerful rust remover Evapo-Rust is a powerful rust remover, with a water-based formula that is effective and easy to use. The part simply has to be immersed in a bath of the ready-to-use solution, the rust then detaches from the metal surface and remains suspended in the liquid. The active ingredient in the formula binds exclusively to iron, removing only the rust from steel, iron, cast iron and chrome. It thus preserves the non-oxidized metal and is harmless to other metals. Compared to conventional acidic or basic strippers, CRC chemical resistance Excellent chip and abrasion resistance Reduces and prevents build-up of contaminates Excellent flexibility Dirt and debris less likely to attach to the surface Microbial & bacteria growth inhibitor Using patented BioCote antimicrobial technology against microbial growth Inhibits and reduces microbial growth on protected coating Protects treated surfaces against bad odours, staining and material Evapo-Rust is non-toxic, noncaustic and non-corrosive, and does not affect plastic, PVC, Viton and non-oxidized paint on treated parts. CRC Evapo-Rust is a powerful formula that removes the thickest layers of rust down to bare metal, leaving no residual layer and requiring no sanding or blasting. The treatment is fast, a light layer of rust is removed in only 15 to 30 minutes, a medium layer in 6 hours, and a thick layer in 12 to 24 hours.
