According to the information obtained from the Vedic Square (see page
19), linking opposing numbers creates the same basic pattern, only they are
reversed. However, according to astrology the Sun (1) and its opposite,
Saturn (8), have entirely different energies—both in pattern-aspects and
behavior. So the Vedic Square is helpful only up to a particular point in our
understanding of the numbers: for observing the visual patterns of the
numbers and their relationships when superimposed. The mystic power
hidden in the numbers, which reveals at any given moment the unpredictable,
is not revealed in the Vedic Square. For this, the numerologist must cull
information from many different sources, including mythology, astrology,
and the Cabala.
