The table of 2 will be 2, 4, 6, 8, 1, 3, 5, 7, 9. The table of 3 will be 3, 6, 9, 3,

6, 9, 3, 6, 9. The table of 4 will be 4, 8, 3, 7, 2, 6, 1, 5, 9 and so forth.

THE NUMBER NINE

One thing that becomes immediately apparent is the persistent appearance of

the number 9. We see that this elegant number alone forms the other two

edges of the square. Nine, the last number, does not change; all multiples of

nine are nine. If you add any number to the number nine, it will remain the

same—nine will not lose its identity:

9 + 1 = 10 = 1

9 + 2 = 11 = 2

9 + 3 = 12 = 3

and so forth.

So by examining the Vedic Square we have discovered something very

basic to Hindu numerology. Since adding 9 to any number does not alter that

number, in this system of numerology the number 9 (or any numbers adding

up to 9) is dropped before calculations begin.

When calculating single whole numbers, it’s easier to simply omit the

number nine, and not waste energy. To make a simple whole number for

someone born on May 12, 1934:

Add the remaining digits.

1 + 2 + 1 + 3 = 7

Similarly, to make a single whole number of the random digits
