Saturn and Number 8
Saturn is the ruling planet of people born on day 8, 17, or 26 of any month, or
those whose destiny or name number totals 8. The Saturnian qualities
described below are most clearly visible in people who have 8 as a psychic
number.
Among the seven most important planets of our solar system, Saturn is the
farthest planet from the Earth. That it is slow moving is indicated by its
Sanskrit name, Shanaishchara. It is inert (tamasic), cold and dry in nature,
and is considered to be the most malefic of the malefic planets. Its malefic
effects can be experienced when it passes through the twelfth, first, and
second houses from the natal Moon. For example, if the Moon is in Taurus in
the natal chart, then whenever Saturn transits in Aries, Taurus, or Gemini, its
influence can be experienced the most.
As Saturn completes one revolution on the path of its ecliptic in thirty
years, it remains in the sidereal zodiac sign for two-and-a-half years; when it
transits through the three above-mentioned houses, it influences the native for
a period of seven-and-a-half years.
If Saturn is not favorably posited in a natal chart, it makes the natives
greedy, morbid, and gloomy. They continuously suffer from losses and
psychosomatic problems caused by disturbance in their body chemistry. This
is due to the aggravation of wind element humor (a disturbance in the flow of
gases in the body).
Saturn, a planet of darkness, rules over the dark side of human nature, such
as the conscience (or awareness of right and wrong). The sight of Saturn is
