Whitehall has long been
a landmark destination
in London, famed for its
parliamentary buildings,
offices and The Cenotaph.
At the end of this year, there'll
be another reason to head
to Whitehall when London's
very first Raffles Hotel opens
its doors. Located in the
Old War Office, this famous
hotel group has long been
the epitome of luxury and
glamour, it promises to bring
an oasis of calm and charm
to what was the war office of
Winston Churchill.
Raffles isn't the only hotel
opening in and around the
capital this year. From Soho
to Windsor Park, there's a
good number of new hotels
scheduled for opening,
including a 'whole life net zero'
property in Chiswick and a
former recording studio where
the Rolling Stones made their
first album.

With so much history and heritage, hosting
an event in a London landmark building is
an exciting prospect for event organisers.

While Bush Hall excels at intimate, with
a maximum capacity for 280 delegates,
Evolution London boasts a main space
for up to 4,000 people. This blank canvas
style venue is located on the historic Grade
II listed Battersea Park and is well versed in
hosting award ceremonies, conferences,
premiers, televised events, conferences
and exhibitions.
There's almost a whole history book on
Battersea Park and it's certain to entertain
and engage with attendees. The former
stretch of marshland on the south bank of
the Thames was the backdrop to duels,
including a famous pistols-at-dawn
showdown between the Duke of Wellington
and the Earl of Winchilsea. It hosted the
first exhibition football match played under
Football Association rules and during
WWII, air raid shelters were installed and
the park was turned over to allotments
and a pig farm to support the war effort.
More recently, Battersea Park has featured
in films and music videos, including One
Direction, Mr Bean and The Muppets!
