<strong>Haiti</strong>: The Drama of Survival. Development initiatives are treated<br />

in a collection of articles edited by Derrick Brinkerhoff <strong>and</strong><br />

Jean-Claude Garcia-Zamor, Politics, Projects, <strong>and</strong> People: Institutional<br />

Development in <strong>Haiti</strong>.<br />

More recent works include The <strong>Haiti</strong>an Dilemma: A Case Study<br />

Preeg, an economist <strong>and</strong> former United States ambassador to<br />

<strong>Haiti</strong>. A conference on <strong>Haiti</strong> after the return of Aristide generated<br />

a collection of papers edited by Robert I. Rotberg, <strong>Haiti</strong><br />

Renewed: Political <strong>and</strong> Economic Prospects. There is also a recent<br />

volume on political economy by Alex Dupuy, <strong>Haiti</strong> in the New<br />

World Order: The Limits of the Democratic Revolution, <strong>and</strong> an earlier<br />
