SUMMIT art glass no. 0-1 owl covered jar Summit Art Glass No. 0-1 Owl Covered Jar is a reproduction of the Imperial #800 Owl Jar and Cover ca. 1955-1976. Russ Vogelsong, owner of Summit Art Glass, produced the Owl between 1984-2005. Russ acquired the Owl mold from Lenox / Imperial Glass in 1984. He did not remove the ALIG (Arthur Lorch Imperial Glass logo from the bottom of the base). He did not add his Summit Art Glass logo, 'V' in a ring to the Owl. Summit Owls were produced in many colors including carnival and have either Yellow or Brown glass eyes with Black pupils. The pupils are off center causing the Owls to look unnatural. The eyes appear to be crooked, but this is not so. The pupils cause this illusion. Note that authentic Imperial Owls are marked IG. Summit Owls are marked ALIG. Some collectors refer to this logo as being a fictitious AIG that was created by Russ Vogelsong, but if you look closely, you will see an L. ALIG was the last logo that Imperial used between 1981-1983. 6 1/2" high. No known reproductions. Rosso Wholesale sold the Summit Owl in Vaseline in the mid 2000's. Produced by Summit Art Glass.
