Steve Gladis<br />
Steve Gladis serves as president and CEO of Steve Gladis Communications, a leadership development firm<br />
focused on helping leaders achieve both success and significance through executive coaching, training and<br />
development, and motivational speaking. At George mason University, he teaches a Leadership Communication<br />
series to first-line and mid-level leaders.<br />
Dr. Gladis has taught and/or coached hundreds of clients over the past 20 years from a host of companies and<br />
organizations in the Northern <strong>Virginia</strong> Region, including Cox, Lockheed martin, Science Applications International<br />
Corporation, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Department of Justice, Drug Enforcement Administration,<br />
Department of Labor, Environmental Protection Agency, The Washington Post, Gannett News, the Northern<br />
<strong>Virginia</strong> Regional Park Authority, the Council for Excellence in Government, the U.S. Department of Health and<br />
Human Services, and many others.<br />
A former member of the University of <strong>Virginia</strong>'s faculty, Dr. Gladis served as an Associate Dean in the School<br />
of Professional Studies and as Director of the university's Northern <strong>Virginia</strong> Center. Dr. Gladis has published<br />
numerous magazine and journal articles as well as fourteen books.<br />
A committed civic and academic leader, Dr. Gladis serves on the Executive Board of the Fairfax County<br />
Chamber of Commerce and the Board of Directors for the Northern <strong>Virginia</strong> Community Foundation. He serves<br />
on the School of Professional Studies Advisory Board at the University of <strong>Virginia</strong>, is chairman emeritus of the<br />
Board of Trustees of the Washington math Science <strong>Tech</strong>nology Public Charter High School, and is a former<br />
member of the University of <strong>Virginia</strong>'s Faculty Senate.<br />
In a previous career as an FBI special agent, he held a number of headquarters and field-agent assignments<br />
around the country. He is also a former U.S. marine Corps officer and a Vietnam veteran.<br />
Among awards he has received are three community-based awards: The VALOR Humanitarian Award for his<br />
support of the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce program that supports the children of valiant police officers<br />
and firefighters; The Fairfax Chamber Chairman's Award for service; and George mason University's Leadership<br />
Award for his strong support of teacher and student achievement presented by GmU's Education Honor Society.<br />
He received his master’s and doctorate degrees from George mason University.<br />
