latest findings on Vibrio vulnificus. From the findings of this workshop, FDA submitted
an issue at the 1994 ISSC conference requesting the conference adopt harvest controls
which would restrict the harvest of oysters from the Gulf of Mexico during the months
April-October if the oysters were for sale as raw oysters (ISSC issue 94257,1995). This
issue was not adopted by the ISSC, however it was referred to a committee in order that
manual language for adoption be drafted, and alternatives to this option be identified
