‘The diazo reagent is made by reacting p-nitroaniline (0.1 g/l00 I& 0.1 N HCl) with<br />

NaN?, (4 g/100 mL %O). This is done in a dropper bottle by crushing a glass ampoule<br />

contaming <strong>the</strong> N&JO,; allowing it to mix with <strong>the</strong> solution of p-nitroaniline. This activated<br />

reagent is immediately ready for use and is stable for up to 8 hours.
