W ■hen legendary German caravan brand Eriba launched its Touring 820 model to the world in 2019, the company claimed that it would set new standards in luxury travel and camping. The modern flagship model caught the eye with its contemporary design both inside and out. It was a rethinking of a classic and featured a larger floorplan than previous models as well as headroom of over two metres, a touring steel cage construction with smooth silver sheet metal cladding, 180-degree panoramic windows, and rounded and modern furniture that was designed to encapsulate the feeling of a luxury yacht. In short, this was a caravan pitched at the very top end for those who enjoy the finer things in life. By default, those kind of luxury purchases normally don’t shift in huge numbers – the limited number of people with the financial freedom to invest in the best there is to offer is a major reason. But Erbia has managed to strike a sweet spot with this touring caravan, so much so that it recently celebrated the 100th version rolling off the production line in Bad Waldsee, Germany – an impressive feat for a large luxury touring caravan. Eriba brand manager, Matthias Binder, explains: “This special anniversary once again confirms that at Eriba we understand and successfully serve the demands of modern travel culture on a vehicle. At the same time, this milestone proves to us that with the Touring series we have been offering the ideal home on four wheels since day one. Even though we are constantly evolving, we have remained true to the iconic design in connection with the traditional Eriba quality standards to this day.” As well as featuring a design that catches the eye, the Eriba Touring 820 is smart on the inside too. The equipment and technology on board meets the standards of even the most demanding end user, such as: Eriba Smart Home control, air conditioning, heating and hot water that can be controlled via a digital display – a display that also allows you to monitor battery charge status, and fill levels of the fresh and wastewater tanks. The Eriba brand has stood for quality and functionality since 1957 and has shaped the world of travel with innovative caravans. Starting with the construction of the original Troll, the Eriba Touring continues to set standards in terms of design, aerodynamics and travel comfort to this day. The cult caravan is the only one of the brand that has been produced continuously for 65 years, because its uniqueness makes it the most successful series of the company. www.campingtradeworld.com | 23
