Last week we attended theCleaner on the Green event withLymington Transition with a plant andvegetable swap which was successful.We are planning on holding a RepairCafe event in the early Autumn followingfeedback and success of other RepairCafe’s in the New Forest area.The Parish Council wouldlike to take credit for this,but alas cannot do so, asthe work was completedby Hampshire CountyCouncil’s Access Team.Path work under thesame programme wasalso undertaken on a pathoff of Lymore Valley.All Work and All PlayJust a Reminder!The Parish Office sells good quality,biodegradable dog bags for the princelysum of £1 for a pack of 50.It is a shame tocontinually have toremind those that owndogs that they shouldpick up their dogs mess.This is something thatblights the Village and isdangerous, especially toyoung children.Of course the majority of owners areresponsible, but it only takes a few togive everyone a bad reputation.Dogs are certainly not allowed on BarnesLane Recreation Ground and theCommunity Meadow, please walkaround and not through.Kingfisher Walk, It Wasn’t UsGov!During a recent meeting between theParish Council and volunteers groups thathelp with maintaining some of the ParishCouncil owned land, the following itemsshould be addressed during this financialyear.1. Matting and Grass around theChris Monk Bench on the VillageGreen2. Revetment work along the DaneStream3. Daffodil planting on the VillageGreen4. Footpath filling and ditch work inthe Pleasure Grounds5. Improvements to an area of landat Sturt Pond Close6. A Jubilee Oak Tree planted in theCommunity Meadow7. Replacement of dead fruit trees inthe Community Orchard8. Chipping of some cut brush in thePleasure Grounds9. Bee Hives on a parcel of land (yetto be identified)Plus a number of other small projects.Thank you to all those that volunteeryour valuable time.Work has been completed at Kingfisherwalk (between Keyhaven Road and By the time you read this the play area atSwallow Drive).
