Column
With 2011 well under way, a record-level of events are scheduled for the
first quarter. A full mix of tours, drives, social, and technical events are
on tap. Our busy calendar is attracting members regularly from nearby
regions and, thanks to your support, the accolades for the Space Coast
Region continue.
Escape Velocity Magazine serves as the standard bearer for this
region’s accomplishments. Our content comes from you, and we
all appreciate your contributions. The March 2011 edition of Classic
Motorsports Magazine features EV as its “Newsletter of the Month”.
CM observes, “It’s pretty. It’s well written, and it’s stocked with nice
photographs…Perhaps best of all, the newsletter isn’t hidden away. The
current issue plus past editions can be found on the group’s website,
spc.pca.org.”
Speaking of the website, a team of technical wizards are working on
updating the look and content of our website in preparation for the
PCA’s Website competition – a national award that we have yet to
achieve. The website serves as SPC’s central point for timely and
accurate event information; we encourage all members to access the
data contained on the site.
Similarly, SPC is going to become more reliant upon the PCA’s event
registration program for confirming attendance at upcoming events. An
upcoming article will illustrate the use of the register.pca.org website.
Acquiring a user name and password is an easy, one-time occurrence
that allows you to register for events in any PCA region. The new PCA
Zone 12 website, zone12.pca.org, provides a comprehensive event
calendar for the nine regions within our zone.
The SPC Board has been expanded significantly to better serve the
needs of our members. The Board wants to know what you’re thinking;
call or e-mail any one of us with questions, ideas, or concerns. Finally,
I wish to thank you for the opportunity to serve this great organization
and our Board for their continued support. Drive with Passion.
