TYPES OF BULLYING
By Vitto Prima
Illustrated by Hartzell Velayo
There are numerous types or methods of bullying that a child or adult may experience, some types of
bullying can be easily distinguished or can be easily spotted while some can be more subtle. Here are
some different types of bullying that may occur;
PHYSICAL BULLYING
As the name suggests, this type of bullying
includes harmful physical actions that can cause
damage to a person that may ruin their
experience of life due to injuries they might
attain from such bullying. Hitting, kicking,
pushing, damaging property, etc. are some
examples of physical bullying.
SOCIAL BULLYING
Also known as “covert bullying”, this type of
bullying can be carried out or can be executed
in a fashion or a way that the bullied person
may not even be able to recognize. Its specific
goal is to harm someone’s reputation and/or
cause shame and embarrassment.
VERBAL BULLYING
Verbal bullying is one of the most common
varieties of bullying that happens. This bullying
includes homophobic or racist remarks, teasing,
name calling, and a lot more. While physical
bullying may leave scars in the body, verbal
bullying can cause emotional scars that can take
a lot of time to heal, in some cases.
CYBERBULLYING
As digital advancements happen, bullying
comes with it. Cyberbullying is a type of bullying
that can be performed through the use of
computers, phones, and any electronic devices.
While the perpetrator uses computers and
devices alike, the actual bullying happens
through different software such as social media,
texts, and any other social media platforms.
