xiiPrefacecarefully selected high-resolution images reinforce the keymorphologic characteristics of the lesions discussed, enrichingthe reader’s concepts. This book is morphology based andis intended for anyone who interprets breast cytopathology,from trainees in pathology to cytotechnologists to more experiencedcytopathologists. Similar to the other books in theseries, the basic approach is to use this as a “handbook,” areadily available and user-friendly reference for quick consultationsavailable by the side of the microscope in dailydiagnostic work.Finally, the authors would like to acknowledge the tremendoushelp and assistance provided to us by Mrs. FrancesBurroughs, education coordinator and director of the schoolof cytotechnology at Hopkins.
