19, 2011 <strong>Lone</strong> <strong>Star</strong> <strong>Division</strong> Board<br />

Meeting at the Holiday Inn Express,<br />

Plano, Texas.<br />

Meeting called to order by President<br />

Pat Halpin at 6:42 PM.<br />

Treasurer’s Report: The Secretary-Treasurer’s<br />

minutes and financial<br />

report were approved as printed<br />

in the last newsletter.<br />

Grievances: None<br />

Old Business:<br />

• President Pat Halpin informed<br />

the Board of the third party estimate<br />

of $3700 for the shipping of the Texas<br />

Special mint cars to the buyers.<br />

Secretary-Treasurer Clay Kinsner<br />

shared the results of the cost-analysis<br />

of money taken in for shipping versus<br />

cost.<br />

• Director at Large Newt Derby<br />

made a motion that the next mint<br />

car, the Southern Pacific Daylight, be<br />

priced $64.95 with $9 to ship and $5<br />

shipping for each additional car. Vice<br />

President David Fronick seconded,<br />

and the motion carried.<br />

• Director at Large Newt Derby<br />

made a motion that we donate one<br />

Texas Special Mint car to <strong>TCA</strong> National.<br />

Central Texas Chapter President<br />

Dick Dooley seconded, and the<br />

motion carried.<br />

• David Fronick made a motion<br />

that we put a case from the damage/<br />

overage of Texas Special Mint cars<br />

back for fundraising purposes at the<br />

2016 National Convention in Houston.<br />

North Texas Chapter President<br />

Ron Spinek seconded, and the motion<br />

passed.<br />

• The Board discussed the success<br />

of the New Orleans chapter and encouraged<br />

all officers to promote the<br />

November meet in Ponchatoula within<br />

the chapters.<br />

• The Board discussed the wording<br />

of the proposed rewrites of Article 1<br />

and 2 of the By-Laws.<br />

New Business:<br />

• Convention Chairman Robert<br />

McLeroy discussed his progress with<br />

the convention logo.<br />

• The election ballots were unsealed<br />

at the board meeting and tallied.<br />

The results of the <strong>Division</strong><br />

election: For President, Pat Halpin<br />

126 votes, Robert McLeroy 1; Vice<br />

President: Robert McLeroy 50, Ron<br />

Spinek 74; Secretary-Treasurer: Clay<br />

Kinsner 125, Michelle Bradford 1.<br />

The ballot count was confirmed by<br />

unanimous vote. A motion was made<br />

and carried to destroy the ballots.<br />

Minutes from Saturday, August<br />

20, 2011, <strong>Lone</strong> <strong>Star</strong> <strong>Division</strong> Business<br />

Meeting in the trading hall of the<br />

Holiday Inn Express Plano.<br />

The meeting was called to order at<br />

10:13 AM by Pat Halpin — LSD<br />

President. Secretary-Treasurer Clay<br />

Kinsner read the minutes from the<br />

previous evening’s Board of Director’s<br />

Meeting. There were no changes.<br />

The BOD minutes were approved<br />

by those in attendance. There was no<br />

grievance, old business, or new business<br />

presented from the floor. Pat<br />

Halpin thanked all those who brought<br />

layouts and worked hard at this meet.<br />

The meeting adjourned at 10:17 AM.<br />
