Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Remembrance Day
On 14 th April 2021, Prapti Kapoor
of Class VIII A, delivered a speech
on the Observance of Dr.
B.R. Ambedkar Remembrance
Day. The significant contributions
towards the establishment of the
state of India by Dr. Bhimrao
Ambedkar was highlighted by the
speaker through her speech.
World Heritage Day
Divya Arora of Class X B, delivered a
speech on 18 th April 2021, on the
observance of World Heritage Day. The
speaker stressed upon the theme of
World Heritage Day 2020: “Shared
Culture‟, „Shared heritage‟ and „Shared
responsibility”. She urged to spread
awareness about the dying cultures,
rich cultural diversity and teach how to
preserve the ancient cultures.

National Civil Service Day
Every year 21 st April is observed as a
National Civil Service Day in order to
praise, award and to commemorate
officers striving and unstopped efforts
throughout the year. Gautam Arora,
student of Class XII C enlightened the
students by saying that being a civil
servant is always a responsible and
demanding job. He extended his
gratitude towards the civil service
officers who work out tirelessly.
World Earth Day
On April 22 nd , 2021, Priyanshi Vassan of
Class IX A delivered a speech on Earth
Day. She sensitized the students about the
conservation of natural resources and
motivated them to do their bit towards
making their planet even more beautiful.
Trijil Sachdeva of Class IV A recited a
poem which was a solemn reminder of the
ways we can save our Earth and the
contributions we can make to keep our
planet clean.

English Language Day
Every year, 23rd April is observed as
UN English Language Day. Giving its
significance, Lavanya Aggarwal of
Class VI A, unfolded this day‟s origin
and its importance in the form of her
speech. She quoted that it would not be
an exaggeration to state that proficiency
in English is a reflection of the educated
class and the finest literature of the
world is to be found in this language.
World Malaria Day
World Malaria Day was organized on
Sunday, 25th April 2021. Lakshita
Modi of Class VI A delivered a wellarticulated
speech, emphasizing
growing concerns about the escalating
health threat posed due to mosquito
bites. In the end, she wrapped her
speech by requesting the people to
follow the precautionary measures to
improve the health conditions.

Rabindranath Tagore Jayanti
Shraddha Arora, a student of Class IX B
delivered a speech on observance of
Rabindranath Tagore Jayanti on 7 th of
May, 2021 which marks the birth
anniversary of the Nobel Prize laureate. She
cast light on the life of Rabindranath Tagore
who was not only a great writer, poet,
painter but also a great dramatist. She urged
that one should learn great things in life by
cultivating the excellence of Rabindranath
Tagore‟s life.
International Family Day
The International Day of Families is
observed on the 15 th of May every year.
Srijan Jaiswal of Class VI A delivered a
speech notifying that the family is the
basic and natural unit of society, which
plays a critical role in nurturing and
caring for individual family members,
from children to youth, men, women,
members living with disabilities, and the
older generation.

Anti Terrorism Day
A virtual activity was held on 21 May 2021,
on the observance of “Anti-Terrorism
Day”. Ishita Mittal, student of Class XII
B was provided an opportunity to deliver a
speech on “Anti Terrorism Day”. She
apprised that this day is observed to wean
away the youth from terrorism and the cult
of violence by highlighting the sufferings of
common people and showing as to how it is
prejudicial to the national interest.
World Environment Day
In honour of World Environment
Day, i.e. observed every year on 5
June, our budding artists, the
students of Class II through their
act showcased that we should
always remember that the gifts and
blessings which nature endows on
us are priceless.

International Yoga Day
On 21 June, 2021, on the observance of
International Yoga Day, Chetanya Gupta, a
student of Class X B, delivered a speech
emphasizing on the theme “Yoga for wellbeing”,
much relevant for our times in a
society still recovering from the impact of
the coronavirus disease (Covid-19)
pandemic. The speaker made aware of the
holistic approach of yoga to our health and
well-being.
World Tiger Day
Manmeet Singh, a student of Class IX A
shared his views on the observance of
World Tiger Day on July 29, 2021. The
speaker through his impressive note
made everyone realise the need to
celebrate this day annually – to protect
the rights as well as raise the status of
tigers in order to improve their welfare
across the globe.

Hiroshima Day
The Hiroshima Day was observed on
August 6 th , 2021 virtually to mark the
tragedy of the fatal bombing in 1945.
Shrestha Ambastha, of Class XII A
conveyed the importance of the day that
the horrors of nuclear bomb visit no one
ever again. He concluded his speech by
urging everyone to learn to live, and live
peacefully.
Quit India Day
August 8, observed as Quit India Day, is
a milestone in the history of the freedom
struggle of our country. On this day
Prapti Kapoor a student of Class VIII
A, delivered a speech to make us aware
about the significance of “Quit India
Day”. She remembered the martyrs for
their supreme sacrifice towards national
freedom.

Nagasaki Day
On 9 th August, 2021, on the observance
of Nagasaki Day, Keerat Kaur,
student of Class X C delivered a
speech. The speaker enlightened the
students by telling that Nagasaki Day
is observed every year on 9 th August to
commemorate the memories of people
who lost their lives on this day.
National Sports Day
National Sports Day is celebrated on the 29th of
August every year. It marks the birth anniversary
of Hockey Legend, Major Dhyan Chand. Students
of Class III & IV participated virtually in various
sports activities with great enthusiasm and zeal.
Shagun Arora of Class IV A delivered a speech in
her virtual class focusing on the benefits of
different sports and how the aspiring youth‟s
energy can be utilized in re-constructing a nation
and its glory on the international front.

International Literacy Day
On International Literacy Day on 8
September 2021, Bhoomika Arora, a
student of Class XI C , delivered a
speech. She enlightened the students
emphasizing the importance of literacy
for individuals, communities and
societies and the need for intensified
efforts towards more literate societies.
Hindi Diwas
The school celebrated Hindi Diwas on 14th of
September 2021 during the online classes. Jai
Gopal Arora of Class VIII A delivered a
speech and stressed that we should be proud
of our national language and should learn to
speak in the public domain without any
hesitation. He also added that Hindi is one of
the oldest and the most influential languages
in the world and we should take pride in
speaking our mother tongue.

International Day of Non - Violence
International Non Violence Day is
celebrated on October 2nd every year to
mark the birth anniversary of the most
prominent leader of the Indian Independence
struggle Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi.
Ayush Thakur of Class IX A, through his
speech, shed light on Gandhiji‟s invaluable
contribution to India‟s freedom struggle and
how his principles of truth and non-violence
are still remembered today.
Lal Bahadur Shashtri Jayanti
Chetanya Gupta of Class X B, delivered a
speech on Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Jayanti
on October 2 nd 2021. He gave an insight into
the life of the greatest leader whose loud
thunder of “Jai Jawan Jai Kisan” reminds us
of his valuable contribution to India‟s
freedom struggle. He apprised the students
with the life journey of Shri Lal Bahadur
Shastri who led free India as its second PM.

World Habitat Day
World Habitat Day is observed every
year on the 4 th of October. Manya Aggarwal
of Class VII C delivered a speech to
highlight the importance of the day. She
stated that this day is intended to remind the
World that we all have the power and the
responsibility to shape the future of our cities
and towns. She also shed light on the theme
of the day; “Accelerating Urban Action for a
Carbon-Free World.”
International Girl Child Day
On October 11, 2021, on the observance of
International Girl Child Day, Lakshita
Modi of Class VI A delivered a speech. She
laid stress on the need to promote girls‟
empowerment and the fulfillment of their
rights. Celebrations continued with the small
acts showcased by the charming girls of class
2nd wherein they showed that the girls have
attained immense success in various fields
like sports, politics, and academics.

On October 15, 2021, Palak Kodan, a
student of Class XI A, delivered a speech
on the observance of World Student Day.
She highlighted that this day is celebrated
in honour of the birth anniversary of
former President of India, Late Dr. APJ
Abdul Kalam. Through her speech, she
shared that Dr. Kalam‟s life is truly an
inspiration for the young children.
International Day for the
Eradication of Poverty
On the International Day for Eradication
of Poverty which is observed every year on
17 th of October, Manya Aggarwal of Class
VII C delivered a speech to honour the
victims of extreme poverty, violence and
hunger. She highlighted that poverty is a
violation of human rights and affirmed the
need to come together to ensure that these
rights should be respected.

Police Commemoration Day
Police Commemoration Day is observed every
year on October 21. The day remembers the
sacrifices of ten policemen who died in
Chinese firing in the year 1959 while defending
the borders with China. To commemorate the
day, the tiny tots of Class I, through a dance
performance, depicted the hard work and
sacrifices done by the policemen. They thanked
these heroes by spreading the message that we
all are safe just because of them as they
sacrifice their today to give us a safe
tomorrow.
World Kindness Day
On 13 th November 2021, on the observance of
World Kindness Day, Mahi Aggarwal of
Class IV A delivered a speech in her virtual
classroom. She insisted on looking beyond
our self-serving nature and considering the
interests of other people by helping and
being kind to all. Celebrations also included
some of the acts shown by the tiny tots of
Class I wherein they showed some of the
ways of being kind to others.

of Violence Against Women
Manya Agrawal of Class VII C, delivered a
speech on the observance of International
Day for the Elimination of Violence
against Women which is observed on
25 th November, 2021. She enlightened all
that the idea behind observing the day was
to raise awareness about the urgent need to
end violence against women and girls.
National Mathematics Day
National Mathematics Day is celebrated on 22
December every year with great honour to mark
the birth anniversary of the legendary Indian
mathematician, Srinivasa Ramanujan and his
contribution to the field of Mathematics. On this
occasion, Hardik Verma of Class IX C delivered
a speech. He stressed that mathematics plays a
significant part in human logic and thoughts. He
also highlighted the significance of Mathematics
in our daily lives.

Kisan Diwas
Kisan Diwas is observed on 23rd
December every year. In order to pay
tribute and give respect to our nation‟s
farmers, Riya Kumari of Class XI A
delivered a speech. She insisted that
farmers deserve appreciation for all the
efforts that they make to feed us yearround.
She urged everyone to be thankful
to the farmers for their hard work and life
long struggle.
Vishwa Hindi Diwas
Vishwa Hindi Diwas commemorates the
anniversary of the first World Hindi
Conference held in Nagpur on January 10,
1975. On this occasion, Jai Gopal Arora of
Class VIII A delivered a speech. He
reminded us of a few interesting facts
related to the Hindi language. He further
highlighted the significance of the language
in connecting the citizens of India.

National Youth Day
Namrta Prakash of Class IX C was given
an opportunity to deliver a speech on the
observance of National Youth Day on 12 th
January, which marks the birth anniversary
of the Great Swami Vivekananda who was
a social reformer, philosopher and thinker.
Through her speech she gave an insight
into the significance of youth in the
progress of the nation.
Army Day
RKS always holds in high regard for the
soldiers working towards the safety and
security of the country. The school celebrated
Army Day on January 15th 2022. Tanishi of
Class IX A, apprised the day as a historic
day as on this day General KM Cariappa
became the first Indian to take charge of the
Indian Army in 1949. She also expressed her
gratitude to those who remained undeterred
while laying down their lives for the sake of
the nation.

Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Jayanti
Srishti of Class VIII B was given an
opportunity to share her views on the
observance of Subhash Chandra Bose Jayanti
on 23 rd January 2022. The speaker paid a
tribute to the revolutionary leader, on his birth
anniversary by giving an insight into his
famous quotes and discussed about his
contribution to the Indian freedom struggle.
National Girl Child Day
Ramakrishna Senior Secondary School celebrated
National Girl Child Day on 24th January 2022.
On National Girl Child Day, Adhya Chauhan
of Class V C was given the opportunity to speak
on the observance of National Girl Child Day. She
envisioned us that the day increases awareness
about the gender inequality faced by women in
our country. She gave an insight into the various
schemes like “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao”
implemented by the Indian Government to
empower girls for their sustainable development.

The fourth International Day of Education
was observed on January 24 that marked
under the theme „Changing Course,
Transforming Education’. Niyati
Sharma of Class VI A, stated through her
speech, that this day showcases the most
important transformations that have to be
nurtured to realize everyone‟s fundamental
right to education and build a more
sustainable future.
Lala Lajpat Rai Jayanti
On 28th January 2022, Tulsi Mishra, a
student of Class XI A, delivered a speech
on the observance of Lala Lajpat Rai's
Jayanti. She stressed that there is a need to
familiarize the present generation with the
sacrifices of the great freedom fighters like
Lala Lajpat Rai. In the end, the speaker
motivated everyone to tread the footsteps
of Lala Lajpat Rai.

Martyr’s Day
On 30th January, 2022, Yashika Gulati of
Class VII B was given the opportunity to
deliver a speech on the observance
of Martyr’s Day. Through the speech she
told the significance of the day which
marks the death anniversary of the Father
of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi. She
remembered the sacrifice of this great
freedom fighter who laid down his life for
the welfare of the nation.
International Women’s Day
Sneha Aggarwal, a student of Class XII
B, was provided with an opportunity to
deliver a speech on the topic,
“International Women’s Day” on 8 th
March, 2022. The speaker in her address
asked the students to imagine a gender
equal world. She stressed on creating a
world free of bias, stereotypes and
discrimination.
