"Hi, I’m Katie! Over the past 6 months I have been undertaking a <strong>300</strong><br />
Hour <strong>Yoga</strong> Alliance International accredited Women’s <strong>Yoga</strong> <strong>and</strong><br />
<strong>Empowerment</strong> <strong>Teacher</strong> <strong>Training</strong> called ‘Empower’.<br />
My background is in the Entertainment industry <strong>and</strong> I have over a<br />
decade of professional experience. Holding a BA(Hons) in Dance, I<br />
have worked around the world as a performer as well as various<br />
production <strong>and</strong> management roles.<br />
However, the proudest yet most significant moment of my life was the<br />
birth of my identical twin boys Alfie & Charlie.<br />
The challenges I faced physically <strong>and</strong> mentally during <strong>and</strong> after my<br />
multiple pregnancies are what drove me to become a yoga teacher. <br />
Following my C-Section, I needed a further 2 abdominal surgeries. <br />
This saw me dig into the depths of my physical <strong>and</strong> mental health. I<br />
was working full time as a Dance <strong>Teacher</strong> & Team Leader in the<br />
Central Belt of Scotl<strong>and</strong>. I loved it but thought about exp<strong>and</strong>ing my<br />
repertoire <strong>and</strong> had always taken an interest in yoga.
Intuitively, it felt like the correct step to seek out this opportunity <strong>and</strong> at the<br />
perfect time – after relocating to my hometown in the North East of<br />
Scotl<strong>and</strong> after 17 years away.<br />
I had heard about <strong>Yoga</strong>bellies many years ago <strong>and</strong> saw Cheryl & Mike on<br />
Dragon’s Den. I was inspired about the business model <strong>and</strong> had been<br />
following them for a while. When I saw ‘Empower’ advertised I looked into it<br />
<strong>and</strong> immediately knew I wanted to add another string to the bow. I wanted<br />
to invest in good quality training <strong>and</strong> the programme was unlike anything I’d<br />
ever seen before. The timing was perfect for me! With the course being<br />
delivered online, it enabled live interaction with Cheryl from Singapore <strong>and</strong><br />
other Senior <strong>Yoga</strong>bellies <strong>Teacher</strong>s from across the globe. The final module –<br />
Soulful Entrepreneur was my favourite. Having Cheryl as a mentor all the<br />
way through has been so inspiring <strong>and</strong> really invaluable. She is so<br />
knowledgeable, welcoming <strong>and</strong> down to earth – a fantastic role model. The<br />
training included assignments <strong>and</strong> assessments, practice teaching, yoga<br />
teaching video submissions, modules quizzes, regular yoga practice,<br />

How is the course structured?<br />
The <strong>EMPOWER</strong> yoga teacher training will run annually over a period of 6 months,<br />
available live or online. Students will have lifetime access to course materials <strong>and</strong><br />

<strong>Training</strong> Module Outlines<br />
Live lectures <strong>and</strong> teacher training sessions are interactive, but you will also get<br />

Each <strong>EMPOWER</strong> student will be part of a ‘nest’ led by a senior yogabellies<br />
teacher. There will be 2-3 students per senior teacher allowing for plenty of time<br />

Each month the students will have to submit a variety of homework assignments,<br />
depending on the topic. Throughout the training each student should:<br />
Complete all online coursework <strong>and</strong> videos to be watched for the module.<br />
Keep a log of all books read as per the reading list for that module.<br />
Keep a practice journal <strong>and</strong> should be practicing yoga a minimum of 3x per<br />
week, in whichever style of format they choose.<br />
Track their menstrual or moon cycle if they don't menstruate, in the <strong>Yoga</strong> for Life<br />
Journal.<br />
Practice teaching The <strong><strong>Yoga</strong>Bellies</strong> Sadhana or classes or friends, family or<br />
existing students <strong>and</strong> journal their reflections on this.<br />
Film a 20-minute video of them teaching a flow from the specific module of that<br />
month for review in week 4. To be submitted in week 3.<br />
Complete the online quiz or written assignment for that module. To be submitted<br />
in week 4. This is only required if they wish to gain <strong>300</strong>-hour certification.<br />

How does this work if I’m<br />
training online?<br />
This is actually a great question <strong>and</strong> one I get asked regularly. What you also need<br />
to realize is that not all online yoga teacher trainings are created equally.<br />
'Online' training can mean a lot of things.<br />
In the past I've paid hundreds or thous<strong>and</strong>s for online courses, opened them up...<br />
<strong>and</strong> it's one skimpy 'h<strong>and</strong>book' (see 5 pointless pages) to download or a selection of<br />

Will I receive a certificate upon completing this training?<br />
Yes! You will be eligible to receive a dual <strong>Yoga</strong> Alliance International <strong>300</strong>-hour<br />
certificate <strong>and</strong> our <strong>EMPOWER</strong> by <strong><strong>Yoga</strong>Bellies</strong> certification. It is also jointly<br />
accredited by the World <strong>Yoga</strong> Federation. If you already hold a 200-Hour<br />
qualification by <strong>Yoga</strong> Alliance, you will also be able to apply for the 85-Hour RPYS<br />
(Registered Prenatal <strong>Yoga</strong> <strong>Teacher</strong>) qualification.<br />
How long will I have to devote to this training each<br />
week?<br />
That is completely up to you. If you wish to complete the training within the 6 months<br />
<strong>and</strong> gain accreditation, then we estimate between 4-10 hours per week. If you<br />
want to take your time with the training, you can spread it out as you wish. There is<br />
no deadline to complete.<br />

Can I take this course if I live in a different time zone?<br />
What if I have a full-time job?<br />
Yes! One of the main benefits of online yoga certification <strong>and</strong> training is that<br />
anyone can make it work with their own circumstances - we have students<br />
attending from the UK, Australia, Dubai <strong>and</strong> Singapore already!<br />
Remember there is no pressure to complete the training within the 6 months – this is<br />
only if you wish to gain the certification. We underst<strong>and</strong> that life happens, <strong>and</strong> you<br />
will have lifetime access to the training <strong>and</strong> group.<br />
Will I have one-on-one access to Cheryl?<br />
You will have in-depth personal guidance through our Mentorship programme with<br />
your assigned Senior <strong><strong>Yoga</strong>Bellies</strong> <strong>Teacher</strong> mentor. Cheryl also leads her group work<br />
sessions live from Singapore <strong>and</strong> also during the monthly 'deep dive' calls where you<br />
can “jump into the hot seat” for personal coaching.<br />
How much does the <strong>EMPOWER</strong> programme cost?<br />
The st<strong>and</strong>ard early bird price is then GBP2497, available until the end of June 2022.<br />
The full programme price is then GBP 2999. The price is the same for live <strong>and</strong> online<br />
training <strong>and</strong> includes lifetime access to all online course materials.<br />

Can I sign up for individual modules?<br />
Yes! Each module is GBP599 each. These cannot be paid in instalments.<br />
Can I pay in installments?<br />
Yes! You can pay for the full <strong>300</strong>-hour programme over 6 or 9 monthly installments.<br />
Is there an alumni rate if I've already completed the<br />
<strong><strong>Yoga</strong>Bellies</strong> 200-hour training?<br />
Absolutely! You will be able to undertake this <strong>300</strong>-hour training at 50% of the listed<br />
price. If you've completed our 200-hour training, you will also be eligible to apply for<br />
<strong>Yoga</strong> Alliance International, 500 Hour <strong>Teacher</strong> Accreditation. *Applies to 2021<br />
training only.<br />
Can I start teaching <strong><strong>Yoga</strong>Bellies</strong> br<strong>and</strong>ed classes <strong>and</strong><br />
be listed on their website?<br />
Yes! On completion of our YTT courses, you can apply to become a Licensed<br />
<strong><strong>Yoga</strong>Bellies</strong> <strong>Teacher</strong>, meaning you will have your own mini-site on<br />
www.yogabellies.com, where you can list your classes <strong>and</strong> be instantly searchable<br />
worldwide. You will also have ongoing access to our International <strong>Teacher</strong>s’ Lounge<br />
for support on your yoga journey, use of our pre-written class plans, social media<br />
templates, business tools <strong>and</strong> ongoing coaching sessions <strong>and</strong> br<strong>and</strong> exposure.<br />
Becoming a licensed teacher is completely optional <strong>and</strong> application is no<br />
guarantee of approval.<br />

No, we no longer offer a franchise model. <strong><strong>Yoga</strong>Bellies</strong> now offers st<strong>and</strong>-alone yoga<br />
teacher training for all women <strong>and</strong> practitioners, with no obligatory fees, restrictions<br />
or ongoing commitments.<br />
There is also an optional opportunity to become a Licensed <strong><strong>Yoga</strong>Bellies</strong> <strong>Teacher</strong>,<br />
where you can teach our br<strong>and</strong>ed class plans <strong>and</strong> be listed <strong>and</strong> searchable on our<br />
website. This costs from just GBP40 per month. There is no obligation to do so, <strong>and</strong><br />
you can do this, even if you currently have your own yoga business, e.g., OM Mums<br />
Club, Dubai is listed on our website as having been trained by <strong><strong>Yoga</strong>Bellies</strong> <strong>and</strong><br />
practising the methods.<br />
