It’s 12 months since then
18-year-old Tommy
Conway made his debut
for the club he had
been with since the age
of seven. In fact, it’s
closing in on a year to the day
since he scored his first goal for
the Robins, away to Millwall at
the start of May 2021.
Conway has had to be more
patient this season, especially
after recovering from an
ankle injury at the start of the
campaign, but there’s a lot of
promise which comes with the
Academy graduate.
Looking back on the last year, the
striker has learnt a lot and recalls
the moment which marked the
start of his first-team journey.
“Me and Alex Scott were asked
to train on the Thursday and
we went back on the Friday as
normal with no idea at all,” he said,
remembering City’s away trip to
Swansea City in February 2021. 4
