Yellow has been my favorite color for a while now. It is the color I associate most with
happiness, warmth, brightness, and energy. With this in mind, there is no better way to
show my appreciation for this color than with the yellow instruments of the band, the
brass, in a powerful fanfare.

about the composer
Ty Bloomfield (b. 2000) is a composer who strives to turn aspects of his daily life into
music. Bloomfield began composing in 2019 and since has written works for solo
instruments, chamber ensembles, and wind ensemble. Bloomfield is a senior music
education and composition major at Illinois State University where he studies with his
teachers Dr. Roger Zare, Dr. Roy Magnuson, Dr. Martha Horst, and Dr. Carl Schimmel.
After graduating, he plans to apply for graduate programs and continue developing his
writing style and technique.
In the future, Bloomfield plans on using his platform and knowledge to help develop the
next generation of composers and help newer students find their voice through writing
music.
