Their main local rivals in the GarnockValley, as well as Dalry Thistle, are BeithJuniors. Their traditional club colours are gold &black with a white change strip. In their earlydays, Ladeside were known as “The BumbleBees” thanks to their very gold & black bandedshirts.The club’s first ever match was held in snowyconditions and it was said the brightly colouredshirts made them stand out “like bumblebees inthe snow.” There are even images from theHowever, the most compelling argument has itthat the nickname derives from a Rabbie Burnspoem - “The Inventory” written in 1786.Queen of the South may be the only footballteam mentioned in the bible - but Kilbirnie werequoted by the bard!Kilbirnie’s home ground is Valefield Park, acompact but atmospheric ground which boasts apavilion with terracing, two large enclosures onthe far side & banked terracing behind eachgoal.
