Covid-19 Pandemic
A New Theological Hermeneutics

Introduction
It was by 2019 December that severe coronavirus was diagnosed
at Wuhan, a city in China. Since then, the virus spread to
almost the entire globe and affected badly the normal life of people
and restrictions were implemented by nations. Religious life and
all walks of life were affected. Since churches, temples and
mosques had to impose restrictions, the worship retreats and
classes received an online manner. The main highlight was the
turning in of homes as churches.
Christianity has a long history of responding to pandemics. 1
In recent times World Council of Churches and the Pontifical
Council for Interreligious Solidarity inquire: “what does it mean
for Christians to love and serve our fellow human beings in a
world in which the Covid-19 pandemic has inflicted widespread
