in relation to the church

Metaphor is a mode of expression whereby one thing is understood
and described in terms of another.
Bride - Bridegroom (Kalso -hasno)
Bride - Bridegroom image is an important theological image in the
bible that descries the divine human relationship with Christ. This
image implies the intimacy between God and his people. The chosen
Community as the bride of God is an important image from the Old
Testament period. Especially the book of Hosea and the book of
Ezekiel used the image of marriage to picture the contextual scenario
of the God-Human relationship. When it comes to the New Testament
the bride is the Church who is the chosen one and Christ is her
bridegroom. Christ himself says that he is the bridegroom (Jn 3:29;
Mtt 2:19; Lk 5:34). For Paul, this image which speaks about the intimacy
of the relationship between church and Christ was special and
best -loved (2 Cor 11:2; Eph 5:24; Eph 5:30-32). The book of Revelation
found its climax on the revelation about the marriage of the Lamb
