Longing is a complex activity where our emotions take
a long time to get fulfilled through our senses. The world
offers a dilemma of confused “ longing “ where what we
‘long’ for is completely under question. The recent
Malayalam film “ Minnal Murali “ speaks of such a
dilemma; how love and longing has taken a man to be
deprived of his sensibility that resulted in the suffering of a
‘ society ‘. The role played by Guru Somasundaram as ‘
Shibu ‘ is appreciative in character since he shows an actor’s
potrayal of this deepest emotion – love. He kills everyone
who comes before him as an opposition to the fulfillment
of his love. The normal , ordinary human being turns out
to be a lunatic on acquiring superpowers. His inner psyche
may be going through a transition phase- positive responses
getting dislocated in the vacuum of internal strife. In his
extreme solitude , he may not be able to control his wanting
desires. That much he may be obsessed or acquainted with
it. The shattered thoughts may result in deeds which is good
for him only. Interpersonal relationships are a necessity for
every individual for his existence and survival. But an intense
desire for body and bounty can lead a man into the
trampoline of unknown repercussions. He may become a
victim of his own selflessness and his actions to the end of
others . So it’s the truth- a man who unconditionally loves
cannot abstain from such emotions and his mindset will
be pursuing him to do such actions. Now it’s the turn of
society ; society is always the reflection of masked realities.
Christ is one such model of “ irrevocable” love. His ‘
longing’ has lead to sacrifice his life for the whole world.
He has got superpowers but he couldn’t use it for his
personal needs and desires . He always found a connection
with his living environment but the world rejected him.
So , what did this world offer him for his “ irrevocable Love
“?. Cross. …. Christ , son of God ,can identify himself with
the ‘suffering ‘ but how could a normal human being….
So , Love is irrevocable , unconditional , and
unquestionable. It can happen anytime and any moment .
The only concern is that our love should not threaten the
life of others.
