WELCOME Welcome to our Spring journal, time is flying by and we are just getting to grips with answering the phone as CFAS after decades of saying OFAS. The name change has gone down extremely well, with many Associates appreciating the fact we have changed our name to reflect their business sector. With the early spring sunshine experienced in February whilst collating the Journal, we are all keeping our fingers crossed that we don’t have snow during Clerkenwell Design Week! There are so many great things in the programme, events happening, seminars occurring and demonstrations planned, that it would be cumbersome to be in snow boots, woolly hats and gloves. Not to mention difficult holding a pint outside one of the many pubs networking with colleagues old and new. As media partners, our CDW mini-journal will be available in various showrooms and at the CDW Press Office for visitors to pick up, so please do contact us about your entry as this will reach a huge audience during the event, as well as the subscription database who receive it in early May during the CDW build-up. Remember those Associates not exhibiting at CDW, this journal will keep your brand in the public eye and reach a large volume of prospective customers. As promised, we continue our journey of revamping the Journal, giving it a fresh modern feel, more editorials, articles from Associates and important updates from FIRA. Environmental issues and sustainability is our Journal theme this quarter, with plenty of articles to be surprised about and enjoy. Recently, there has been a lot in the news directly and indirectly relating to our industry - a Parliamentary report recommending the fashion industry apply a 1p tax per garment to fund fabric recycling schemes - Ikea rolling out to more countries sustainability schemes such as: customers returning old Ikea furniture to get a refund to spend in store, and in some countries being paid for Ikea furniture to be resold in the Ikea bargain corner. Planet health is a subject here to stay. As always, myself and the CFAS team are here at your disposal.
