PLANET HEALTH<br />
Smaartbox is a simple solution to store and carry files,<br />
equipment and personal possessions from lockers<br />
and cabinets to workspace or breakout areas. It can<br />
contain most file formats, is light, robust and with<br />
its unique hinging system easily stores flat when not<br />
in use. The box can be reshaped into the full open<br />
format in seconds.<br />
The constituent materials are: carcase and handles –<br />
polypropylene; edge trims UPVC; and the hinge hoops<br />
are steel wire, all of which are totally recyclable.<br />
Although the product has a long life expectancy,<br />
when no longer required the units can be collected<br />
and recycled, strictly adhering to ISO 14001: 2015<br />
Environmental Management and ISO 14006:2011<br />
Systems, to achieve this. After material separation,<br />
specialist recycling agents are engaged who manage<br />
the disposal and certify the operation, which can be<br />
passed back to the end-user to comply with their<br />
corporate health & safety policy.<br />
The product concept was originally developed for<br />
one of the large accounting consultancy firms in<br />
London, who wished to improve their methods of<br />
open-plan hot-desking (currently ‘agility working’)<br />
accommodation management. This was eventually<br />
rolled out to their many facilities throughout Europe.<br />
The main design criteria was to develop a personal<br />
container that was light, durable and, as Churn was at<br />
a high frequency, would be interchangeable between<br />
most storage platforms, e.g. file cabinets, personal<br />
lockers, desk pedestals and relocation crates.<br />
Many prototypes were developed which investigated<br />
the possibilities of alternative body colours, corporate<br />
branding and dimensions, but by far the most popular<br />
choice was the now standard foolscap opal coloured<br />
box.<br />
The product is competitively priced and manufactured<br />
in UK and distributed to users all over the world. Our<br />
customers have said they enjoy its simplicity, flexibility<br />
and collapsibility when returned to store.<br />
