Because stray currents, buried water pipes, cable sheaths <strong>and</strong> other factors usually interfere <strong>and</strong> distort<br />

the readings, measurements should be taken along at least three directions. Figure B-5 shows the<br />

recommended multiple sampling pattern to develop an accurate profile. Note that the more divergent<br />

the samples taken, the more accurate the generated soil model will be.<br />
