5.3.2.1 SSGB SPECIFICATIONS<br />

The SSGB shall be a copper bus bar with predrilled holes that provide <strong>for</strong> the use of st<strong>and</strong>ard sized lugs.<br />

It is recommended that the bus bar be electrotin plated <strong>for</strong> reduced contact resistance. The SSGB shall<br />

be sized in accordance with the immediate application <strong>and</strong> consideration should be given to future<br />

growth of the site. The SSGB shall be listed by a nationally recognized testing laboratory when it is<br />

placed within a building facility (ANSI-J-STD-607-A-2002) <strong>and</strong> it should be listed when placed within<br />

other type equipment locations. See Figure 5-12 <strong>for</strong> a typical layout of conductor mounting holes <strong>and</strong><br />

see Table 5-2 <strong>for</strong> additional specifications <strong>and</strong> requirements.<br />
