Note: This configuration is to be avoided whenever possible.<br />

The preferred configuration <strong>for</strong> a single-story building is to have all utilities enter the structure through<br />

a common wall, room or adjacent rooms as close as practical to each other. The single point grounding<br />

location <strong>for</strong> this type of structure must be located at the utilities entrance location, preferably close to<br />

the building's electrical service (power) ground. See Figure 5-3 <strong>for</strong> an overview of the preferred internal<br />

grounding system design.<br />
