AND INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS<br />

WARNING<br />

To prevent accidental damage to underground utilities, always have the local utility<br />

company or utility locator service locate the underground utilities be<strong>for</strong>e excavating or<br />

digging at a site.<br />

The external grounding (earthing) electrode system may consist of, but is not limited to, the following<br />

components, shown in Figure 4-4:<br />

• Ground rods or other grounding electrodes<br />

• Concrete encased electrode<br />

• Building or shelter ground ring<br />

• Tower ground ring<br />

• Grounding conductors<br />

• Radial grounding conductors<br />

• Guy wire grounding conductors (guyed towers only)<br />

• Tower ground bus bar<br />

• External ground bus bar<br />

• Fence grounding conductors<br />
