Virus. Lockdown. Pandemic. Positive. Negative. Hope. Survival. The
whole world struggled to survive during these past two years. Some
have fallen. But many continue to carry on. The resilience of the human
spirit redounds within the bigger context of the natural world surviving
bigger and graver challenges like environmental degradation, pollution
and climate change.
Spencer Ozo represents the many artists who’ve had to struggle and
endure during these difficult times. positive | negative, a 24-piece
collection of his paintings during the pandemic, speaks volumes about
how nature and mankind have thrived and even flourished despite the
challenges. This is Spencer’s first solo exhibit.

SPENCER OZO
Spencer Ozo is a self-taught artist whose passion for painting
has kept him busy and prolific especially during the lockdowns
caused by the pandemic. The dramatic and life-changing turn
of events that he experienced during these past two years have
greatly influenced his creative output and style.
He works with acrylic paint and mixed media creating figurative
and abstract works that depict animals and human figures
against backgrounds of various moods and emotions. His style is
unpredictable but always eye-catching with a playful use of colors
and shapes. Gold and white bars define his works, symbolizing
prosperity, purity and balance.
Born and raised in Baguio City, Spencer’s art is greatly influenced
by the varied nature and culture of the region. He finished a
degree in commerce and marketing from St. Louis University
and subsequently became part of the hospitality industry. He
previously worked with Baguio Country Club, Holland America
Cruise Ship, New World Hotel and is currently the Assistant Front
Office Manager of Conrad Manila.
