Caspar Bailey
Caspar Bailey (b 1997 Oxfordshire England) is a London based ceramic artist.
Drawing on a range of architectural references, Caspar uses the slab building
technique to construct forms that explore the boundaries between functional and
sculptural objects. Each piece is made by hand, allowing the seemingly mechanical
sculptures to display a subtle, yet purposeful, human touch.
This collection of work has been made over the past six months in a joint studio
in East London, where Caspar has been using stoneware clay to further explore
architectural themes. The firing at higher temperatures allows for a greater sense of
fusion between the glaze & the clay body – this has enabled him to further explore
both texture & colour in relation to his slab-built forms.
Hand-crafted ceramic sculptures by Caspar Bailey. Each piece is individually concieved and entierly hand crafted making each sculpture unique.
Place it as a sculptural focal point or use functionally to display flowers etc. Please note that each container may not be entirely watertight and must
not be used to serve food or drink. Use a damp cloth to clean.
