Truth is, our service is a big part of what makes riding the train so memorable. Amtrak offers two types of train service: single-level and our bi-level Superliner ® service. Onboard accommodations vary by route, and the following pages describe the differences. SINGLE-LEVEL TRAINS. Amtrak operates single-level service on most short-distance routes and some long-distance routes serving the Eastern U.S. COACH. There’s not a bad seat in the house. That’s because all Coach seats are the same: large, comfy, reclining, with foot and leg rests, fold-down tray tables, individual reading lights (available on most trains) and overhead luggage racks. Enjoy the sights while getting a bite to eat. Just stroll down to the Dining car where an attendant will greet you, show you to your table and recommend a wine to complement your restaurant-quality meal. The oversized windows offer larger-than-life views and make this a dining experience you’ll be sure to remember. KITCHEN TABLE SEATING CAFÉ / LOUNGE. The most popular place to hang out and socialize is the Café / Lounge car. Here, you can unwind, meet fellow riders or eat a meal with family or friends. Menus offer sandwiches, snacks, beer, cocktails, wine and a variety of juices and sodas. VIEWLINER ® SLEEPING CAR. Whether you’re alone or with your family, we offer several sleeping accommodations to make you more comfortable. Choose from a Sleeping car room or, for more privacy, a suite with two adjoining bedrooms. Your daytime seating easily converts to beds at night for a restful sleep. Two sofas convert to wide lower berths and the upper berths fold down from the wall. Suites also feature private sinks and vanities as well as two fully enclosed private showers and toilets. Our attentive staff provides turn-down service and keeps facilities tidy.
