DIETMAR HÖRNER<br />
Als Allerstes möchte ich bei den Mitgliedern der Facebook-Gruppe<br />
„Australian Birds Identification“ bedanken, die mir bei der<br />
Bestimmung der verschiedenen Vögel geholfen haben.<br />
Mein Name ist Dietmar Hörner. Ich bin 1972 in Ueckermünde<br />
geboren worden und bin in Halle (Saale) aufgewachsen.<br />
Während meiner Schulzeit entdeckte er das<br />
Interesse an der Fotografie. Natürlich waren meine ersten<br />
Fotos gemeinsame Aktivitäten mit meinen Schul- und Klassenfreunden sowie meiner<br />
Kirchengemeinde fest. 1991 trat ich in den Arbeitskreis Hallesche Auenwälder<br />
zu Halle (Saale) e.V. und wurde zu einem Chronist des Vereins. Mein Spektrum<br />
erweiterte sich mit Tier- und Landschaftsfotografie.<br />
Am Thalia Theater Halle erhielt ich 1998 eine studentische Beschäftigung. Ich<br />
erwarb mir zusätzlich Kenntnisse in Theater- und Eventfotografie, in dem ich die<br />
Möglichkeit erhielt, Theateraufführungen und Konzerte zu fotografieren.<br />
Beruflich führte mich mein Weg erst einmal ab 2006 nach Österreich, Tirol. Bereits<br />
davor hielt ich meine Reisen fotografisch fest, was ich in Tirol intensivierte.<br />
In besonderer Erinnerung blieb mir die Fotoreise nach Südtirol.<br />
Später führten mich Reisen nach Australien und Neuseeland. Bereits mit 14 Jahren<br />
war er an Australien interessiert. Es waren zwei historische Begebenheiten,<br />
eine reale und eine fiktive, die mein Interesse weckte. Ich wollte das Land kennenlernen<br />
und reiste vom Top End bis nach Warrnambool.<br />
1997 nahm ich das Studium für Politik und Geschichte an der Martin-Luther-Universität<br />
auf. Bedingt durch mein Interesse an Australien befasste ich mich mit der<br />
Geschichte Großbritanniens und der Besiedlung Australiens ab dem 18. Jahrhundert.<br />
2016 folgte ich dem Ruf: „Join the march!“ - eine Reise in die Geschichte<br />
des englischen Mittelalters. Anlass dieser Fotoreise war der 950. Jahrestag der<br />
Eroberung Englands durch die Normannen im Jahr 1066.<br />
Englands erste Kolonie war Irland, wohin mich 2017 meine Reise führte. Ich wandelte<br />
auf den Spuren von James Joyce‘s Ulysses sowie die der des Führers des<br />
Unabhängigkeitskrieges und Politikers Michael Collins.<br />
Mit Dietmar-Kookaburra Photography machte ich mich selbständig und biete Leistungen<br />
• in Tier- und Landschaftsfotografie<br />
• in Theater- Konzert- und Eventfotografie sowie<br />
• in Reise- und Geschichtsfotografie an.<br />
Zum Umfang meines Leistungsangebotes gehört auch Mediengestaltung.<br />
Im Rahmen meiner Tätigkeit in der AG Öffentlichkeitsarbeit gestalte ich zahlreiche<br />
Faltblätter des AHA Halle (Saale) e.V. und bin bei der Betreuung der Homepage<br />
mit beteiligt.<br />

My name is Dietmar Hoerner. I was born in a small<br />
northern German town called Ueckermünde in 1972.<br />
Still a baby my parents moved back to their home town<br />
Halle (Saale), birthplace of George Frederick Handel. Since<br />
then I have been living there, attended all institution of education. During my<br />
school days I became intersted in photography. I took first photos of my friends<br />
and school mates and journey during school holidays. When I became a member<br />
of the environmental protection society Arbeitskreis Hellesche Auenwälder zu Halle<br />
(Saale) e.V. I became one of its chroniclers. I learnt more about photography<br />
of animals and plants.<br />
As a student I started working for the Thalia Theater Halle as an extra in 1998 I<br />
was able to gather experiences in theater and concert photography.<br />
In 2006 I moved to Austria for work. It was a great time. Interesting places and<br />
sites as a photographer. I had memorable journeys to South Tyrol, Vienna etc.<br />
I have been in Australia three times - in 1994, 2012/13 and 2015/16. Australia<br />
got my attention when I was 14 years old. There was a report the Sydney Opera<br />
House and two TV series - „Flight into Hell“ and „Runaway Island“. It was a dream<br />
to travel to Australia and learn more about it. I have been to place between the<br />
Top End and Warnambool - the opposite direction of „Charlie & Boots“ if you know<br />
this movie.<br />
Because my interst in Australia it turned my attention to history of the Great<br />
Britain of the 18th century and the settlement of Australia. I started my study for<br />
history and politics at the Martin-Luther-Universität Halle-Wittenberg in 1997. It<br />
was Dan Snows call: „Join the march!“ I decided to start a new journey - a journey<br />
to the history of medieval England. The reason for this call was the conquest of<br />
England by the Normans in 1066 what was the 950th anniversary in 2016.<br />
Ireland was Englands first colony. I travelled to Ireland in 2017 lead by the illustrated<br />
book „The Joyce Country“ about places of James Joyce „Ulysses“ It was<br />
my interst in history, to learn more about its fight for independence and one its<br />
charasmatic leaders - Michael Collins.<br />
I started a small business with Dietmar-Kookaburra Photography offering:<br />
• nature and landscape photography<br />
• theatre, concerts and events photography<br />
• travel and history photography<br />
Media design is a part of my service offering.<br />
As a member of the PR team of the AHA Halle (Saale) e.V. I am involved supporting<br />
its homepage and creating brochures.<br />
