WELCOME TO ISSUE 53 OF NZ PHOTOGRAPHER MAGAZINE HELLO EVERYONE, You’ve been asking us for gear-related articles so we’re pleased to present a new series titled ‘What’s In The Bag’ brought to you by New Zealand Photography Workshops. The series will run bi-monthly alternating with Lessons In The Landscape to ensure the best of both worlds. In terms of trying new techniques, this month Fairlie Atkinson is walking us through grunges and Alan Blundell continues guiding us on street photography. In our interviews, we’re looking at horse photography with a 15 year old rising star and we’re getting to know amateur photographer Wendy Pemberton whose name you might recognise from readers’ submissions. Ana Lyubich tells us how she’s shaking up the stock photo industry with the launch of the Excio image library, and Susan Blick takes us on a tour of Karachi in Pakistan. Together with all of our other regular features, it’s a jam-packed issue to get stuck into so grab some time to yourself and get inspired! She is also a keen fine art photographer, and has used her work to raise awareness and money for conservation. She is a keen advocate of the movement #photographyforgood and encouraging teen photographers to find their voice using a lens. Alan Blundell Alan Blundell is a photographer based in Wellington, New Zealand. From a background in Architecture, the former Hotelier and Father of 4, decided to start a photography blog in 2016 using the handle ‘bokeh street’ to showcase his work with LEICA + FUJI camera gear. Susan Blick Susan is an award-winning landscape photographer from New Zealand and Australia who travels extensively and leads international photo tours. She is currently based in Istanbul, but is spending time across the region throughout the year. All rights reserved.
