Pandama: Resonating with Silence
Interior Design Exhibit (INDEXHI) Renovation
Since the space’s occupants consist of people with different degrees of hearing loss, the
interiors were devised and designed in such a way that emphasizes their unique ability to
grasp their environment through tactile, visual, olfactory, and auditory stimuli. Pandama
aims to enhance the user’s connection within the space by creating an intuitive design that
allows proper function without any hindrances, where the users do not feel limited.
Pandama was featured on media platforms such as ClickTheCity, The Benildean,
Philippine Star. The Philippine Post, PAGEONE.ph, Young STAR, and BusinessMirror
among others.
Pandama: Resonating with Silence is both a school fundraiser and design
renovation project for the Philippine School for the Deaf. The design aims
to bring an inclusive and experiential space to the site's dining hall and
turn it into a multi-purpose co-working space for deaf stakeholders.

Museum Exhibition Design
Igolot, Ygolot, Igorotak:
The Historical and Contemporaneous Narrative of Cordilleran Culture
Igolot, Ygolot, Igorotak! The Historical and Contemporaneous
Narrative of Cordilleran Culture is a traveling exhibition that
acts as the mediating factor between cultural communities
and audience.
Entrance Perspective
The fragmented and exoticized perception of indigenous groups in
the Philippines is put to light. This creates discourse on the
political, economic, and cultural issues currently being experienced
by Cordilleran groups. The exhibition’s implicit narrative is told as
visitors walk through the space. They are then given the
opportunity to infer meaning with the objects put side by side by
connecting the relationships between what is displayed. Contrast
and contradiction is used as a tool to depict historical narratives
parallel to ethnographic and contemporary works of art. Present
ideologies connected with influences of the past illustrate the
marginalized conditions of Cordilleran people and how dynamic
the culture has evolved. The exhibition uses projection mapping
methods in contextualizing these notions as well as both tangible
and intangible culture to usher the audience’s interpretation.

Native Danecs
The communal and reparative nature of Cordilleran culture is
emphasized through this empathic approach to promote their
cultural identity and encourage both the younger generation to
learn their roots and to inspire the older generation to continue
passing it down.

Igolot, Ygolot, Igorotak:
The Historical and Contemporaneous Narrative of Cordilleran Culture
Due to the historically uneven power dynamic present within
Philippine culture, cultural communities have long been
misrepresented and exoticized. Currently, museum institutions
attempt to pluralize and decolonize their displays as this affects the
present perception of Filipino people towards their indigenous
cultural groups.
However, due to the design of their exhibitions, the narratives of
ethnolinguistic groups remain static and bound by the past.
This design focuses on exploring the spatial dimensions of creating
an embodied and radical museum exhibition design for the
contemporary representation of Cordilleran indigenous culture;
which is achieved through the translation of narrative sequences
throughout the space
