The Midas XL8 audio mixer is one of the newest and most elaborate
sound consoles on the market, providing user-friendly desk operation
for the most complex sound-scored productions and concerts,
including the 2009 Nobel Prize Ceremony in Oslo and Depeche Mode’s
“Tour of the Universe,” which played worldwide to audiences of up to

Projections on huge movable screens is at the heart of the Cloud
Eye Control theatre collective in Los Angeles, seen here in their 2015
production of Half Life at the Redcat Theatre. Inspired by the Fukushima
nuclear meltdown after the Japanese tsunami, the short play, with two
female actors, two onstage musicians, and no real plot, is still mesmerizing
by its abstract portrayal of a fantasy life among schools of fishes, hordes
of flying birds and butterflies, growing vegetation, and skies filled with
