former England U21<br />
playmaker John Swift<br />
should pose a major<br />
threat again this<br />
afternoon.<br />
An FA Youth Cup<br />
winner with Chelsea,<br />
Swift made only a<br />
single first-team<br />
appearance for the<br />
club and gained<br />
experience with loan<br />
spells at Rotherham,<br />
Swindon and then<br />
Brentford, where he<br />
scored seven times in<br />
28 games.<br />
That stint at Griffin<br />
<strong>Park</strong> ensured that<br />
Swift caught the eye,<br />
with <strong>Reading</strong> moving<br />
to sign him on a<br />
permanent basis in the<br />
summer of 2016 and<br />
he immediately<br />
established himself<br />
there, helping the<br />
Royals to reach the<br />
Championship play-off<br />
final in his first season.<br />
The 26-year-old is now<br />
approaching 200<br />
appearances for the<br />
club and, with eight<br />
goals and 11 assists to<br />
his name so far this<br />
season, he leads the<br />
way in both of those<br />
categories.<br />
